Quantiloop - Live Looper

4 Track Loopstation with Fx

Description

Built for Live performance and hands free use, Quantiloop recreates the simplicity of a hardware loop pedal in an iOS app. Attach a MIDI foot controller and control it the way you want. No MIDI controller at hand; just preset your loop length, enable auto–record or a count–in and your loops will automatically close, no hands or feet required. Big onscreen controls allow for easy configuration and tactile control by vocalists or beat boxers. Focus on your performance instead of fiddling with dip switches or complex menu’s.
Be Creative
Create 4 tracks with endless layers of overdubs to build your performance. Record a Chorus, Verse and Bridge and switch between them seamlessly or create a 1 bar percussie loop on track one, a 4 bar chord progression on track two and layer a bass line on top, all in perfect synchronisation.
Rhythm Guide
The builtin rhythm guide provides a rhythmic backing. Use the internal metronome for practice, import drum loops from virtually anywhere or host and control your favourite rhythm apps to enhance your performance. MIDI master lets you control MIDI hardware, and MIDI slave lets Quantiloop follow it. Ableton Link lets you even play in time over WiFi with external apps and devices. Quantisation aligns your actions to the nearest measure or beat so you stay in time, and real-time tempo control sets the pace. Prefer setting your own pace, disable quantisation and Quantiloop will react to your actions with minimum latency to create tight synchronised recordings.
FX
Assign up to 3 simultaneous effects to the input. Use the built-in transpose to covert your guitar into a bass, or host your guitar amp sim directly in Quantiloop. The results will be recorded into your loops.
Or assign up to 3 simultaneous track effects to the output. Use the tape stop to add drama, introduce a key change to build up your performance, or host an Inter-App audio/AU reverb processor. Track FX may be assigned to a single track, all tracks or the combined output.

Quantiloop Reviews

Amazing looper

Imasphere on

Canada

I bought this to get into looping and have not been disappointed. I had a small one track/one button pedal looper but quickly found it limiting. Quantiloop on the other hand is like having TWO Boss RC500s side by side.I bought the app and added an iRig Blueboard which connects thru Bluetooth midi and a generic iPad camera adapter which allows me to plug a USB cable and my iPad power supply to my iPad. I have also hooked it up with an Arturia minilab mk2 through USB midi. I can then play through my Positive Grid Spark amp (which has a USB input) and also with my Soundcraft Notepad12fx USB mixer. With the mixer, I can even send the metronome track individually to my earphones while the loops play out to the stereo mains. The features on this app are extremely impressive. There is a small learning curve because there are so many options and possibilities but I don’t think it’s harder to learn than any other multitrack looper. The inputs and outputs on the looper can be configured in numerous ways so one thing to consider is that if you are going to be purchasing an audio interface for this, you should choose one with 4 ins and 4 outs. The Notepad 12fx mixer has this and I’ve seen YouTubers using the Behringer UMC404mc with success. One more thing to consider is getting a footswitch with more than 4 pedals since there are other options you might want to control apart from the 4 loop channels, for example start/stop, overdub, rhythm start etc. All in all, this is an amazing app worth every penny!

Looks Promising

It’s 1/2 off rn and if 10$ and my existing gear can replace a $500 pedal as my last looper slowly glitches to death, then it’s a done deal. I hope it’s stable enough to gig with; I won’t personally be playing any venues serious enough where mistakes wouldn’t be tolerated so my future review of this app will be on the other “Pro” version of the app. The upgrade from this free version is 1$ cheaper which can be helpful to some, I chose the pro version because they’re separate apps in the store and I didn't want to take any chances. So far the free version had no trouble recognizing my presonus iAudioBox interface, or the individual MIDI controllers, on an iPad mini 2, no distortion from electric bass. Ignore the 1 star review about the interrupting voice, the reviewer didn't understand it’s not a free app, the dev made a free version to ‘try before buy.’ You can activate a free 7 day trial to see if it suits you, which is rare enough with professional audio apps so just make sure to press and start the demo on the initial pop-up screen. I was able to test all my gear inputs for several minutes before even starting the trial and I never heard it outside that splash page so no worries.

Ridiculous message every 20 sec

Seriously? With the voice that should be declaring nuclear attack you bug every half minute to upgrade?

Amazing looper with fantastic midi integration

Amazing looping app! Sounds great and functions are crazy flexible. The developer is extremely responsive to feedback and very quick at implementing changes. The automatic tempo sensing is some sort of amazing magic. It's great, because i like my delay and some other effects to be tempo relative. With this app, it senses, sets, and sends (midi) the new tempo as soon as you record the first layer of the first loop. The visual layout is great for keeping track of forms. I strap my iPhone to my mic stand and control it via midi from my line6 helix pedal. The customizing options are really vast so that you can make it comfortable to your own workflow with a few adjustments. I'm amazed at how great this looper is.

Works Great

Several very negative reviews look like they haven’t even read the basic instructions… I went through the 7 day trial, determined that there was potential here, and decided to pay for the Pro version. After that, I went through a bit of learning curve, and it paid off. Just to explore Quantiloop’s possibilities, I tried to duplicate my Boomerang 3; I found all the settings necessary, and was successful; I now have a Boomerang 3 with unlimited recording time, built-in selectable AUv3 effects, and preset save and recall. You guys need to take the time to learn how these things work before you trash it in a review. PS: since getting Quantiloop figured out and set up to work with the Behringer FCB 1010, I have experimented with Loopy Pro, and found it to be as flexible and unlimited as everyone says; but this flexibility comes with a gigantic learning curve that I was unwilling to invest. Remaining with Quantiloop which I already have set up to do everything I need and then some…

This is a great looper and appropriate for a variety of applications. This is a deep program so it may take some time to understand it fully. That time however will be well spent.

Useless

Mysticsailor on

Totally crippled functionality vs the “ pro” version making it an irritating challenge to learn and evaluate prior to purchase . Not enough? .. add a really really annoying and repetitive message. the developer is not making it easy for folk to select his app and making no friends with the nagging..thanks but no thanks

Piece of crap

You can’t even successfully trial this app because this British dude interrupts every 15 seconds telling you to upgrade to get him to shut the f up. How do I know if I want to spend 15 bucks if I can’t even use it without interruptions. Ridiculous and a horrible experience.
