Quiche: Internet Web Browser

Simple, fast, customizable. I love it a lot. It's my new default browser for iOS 💯

Although not yet my default browser (that is Orion), I use it quite a bit. In particular, the option of a button for toggling Javascript is incredibly useful for stopping pop-up videos, which to me are the bane of the internet. The built-in ad blocking is good; it even blocked Twitter ads until just recently (now I only use Twitter on the desktop since none of the mobile blockers I've tried stop the truly intolerable ads.). Closing tabs is also quite easy from the toolbar, though I would prefer if the last closed tab would revert to the favorites page as that would save me a step in having to open it rather than just looking at a blank page. A wishlist would include an option to block all video/images with a toolbar toggle and gestures as in Orion allowing closing a page with a swipe up and some more options. Keep up the good work!

I got the menu tweaked exactly the way I want it and it’s awesome. Just shy of a year to the day of my initial review, it's become my default browser. So much love and care from the dev.

I can’t put my finger on why I like this browser so much, but it is the first time I’ve installed a third party browser on iOS and kept using it for over a week. I think it gets the balance between minimalism and customizability just right.

Found it while looking for a browser with more gestures and instantly liked it for how customizable and simple it was. I use an iPhone XR and in heavy browsers had lag or heat problems with many tabs open but it wasn’t the case with this one since it feels considerably faster when moving around. It lacks some features but talked with the developer by email and the app has a bright future for sure. Looking forward to it!

Everything about this browser has impressed me. It’s fast, with great privacy and ad blocking. Customising the menus is a feature that I never knew I needed — but now I’ve got them set up how I like them, I can never go back. Thank you so much for putting this out there!

Quiche has the basics down to a T (you’d be surprised how many browsers fail at this) and its UI customization is unparalleled. It’s so good at what it does that it’s become my primary browser, over the likes of Safari, Vivaldi, Orion, and Arc. Unfortunately, it’s still missing some things that would make it my only browser. No downloads support forces me to occasionally switch back to Safari, and the UI could benefit from some reachability tweaks, like bottom tabs, address bar swipe gestures for changing tabs, and search suggestions starting from the bottom. Another minor annoyance is that lack of the search suggestions from favorites, history, and open tabs, which is helpful when trying to quickly revisit a website. Truthfully, Quiche in its current state is around a 4.5/5 for me, but considering the app is still in its early stages and the developer’s exceptional responsiveness to feedback (6/5 in my book), I have no doubts that at least some of these nitpicks will be solved down the road, and I’m looking forward to see how the app evolves.

Love the simplicity and customization. Best browser I have found so far. Just need a bookmark import 😊
