Description

Introducing the latest addition to the quilt design world, Q2.
Quiltler 2 encapsulates all the joy of the original Quilting app while offering an immensely more potent toolset. While the first Quilting app aimed to help you quickly create simple box quilts, Quiltler 2 propels you towards crafting almost any quilt design you can envision, thanks to its sophisticated features. Here's a quick rundown:
Overlap fabrics
Rotate fabrics
Alter colors of default fabrics
Upload your personal fabric patterns
Perform calculations to estimate yardage requirements for a specific design
Quiltler 2 aims to be a haven for quilt design, a playground for your creativity. You're not limited to creating one design per playground. Instead, you can develop multiple designs within a single playground and contrast them to pinpoint your favorites.
Quiltler 2 is still evolving, with steady enhancements underway to incorporate new features. However, it already offers an excellent platform for creativity to flourish, unhindered by spatial constraints.
Happy quilting!

Not bad once you figure out the software. I’m thinking of subscribing.

Nice!

A pretty good app! I wish I could select multiple blocks at once and change all their colors at the same time or copy and paste them all together to shift the design over. But I will say the free version is pretty good!!

Interesting tool!

Glad to see there are a pair of people creating a tool for quilters. I’m working in some experimental sculptural quilt blocks. Any way to think about the big picture is valuable. Thanks!

Great quilting app!

I love how easy it is to make patterns and see everything laid out before I go to buy fabric.

So glad I found this app! Took me a second to figure out all the tricks but after deciding I actually did need to watch the tutorials I got it!

Desperately needed quilt app

Quilters need a quilt app for easy quilt designing; this isn’t it. This is NOT user friendly. Give us some drag and drop options that are easy to access. Quilters shouldn’t have to watch multiple tutorials just to get started. I am very computer literate; this app is VERY hard for me to use. Someone with minimal computer knowledge will walk away from this in a heartbeat. I will keep watching and waiting for simple quilt design app. This isn’t it.

It’s serious effort, like learning EHR software, but the functionality is there

I like what the app can do, but many things require unintuitive steps and have unintuitive labels. The tutorials are fine, but they aren’t arranged in a sequence that goes through the steps of making a quilt using the app. If the videos could start with “Tutorial 1: How to Set the Layout of Your Quilt” then “Tutorial 2: How to Set Blocks in Your Quilt Layout” and then “Tutorial 3: How to adjust borders and sashing” “Tutorial 4: Design a Block” and so on, so there’s some chronology. The basics were difficult to identify among the videos, making getting started a lot of work requiring much patience. I’ve been pushing myself to use Quiltler because I love my iPad and believe I will get faster at creating in the app. Most of the time though I find myself going back to Electric Quilt 5 on my now-retro Windows 2000 laptop. The action steps to complete tasks in the app are unique. I feel like I am learning how to do simple things that require multiple buttons in an order of multiple steps in a foreign language to my own computer skills. The block-design in this app also works on an uncommon concept of marking points to be drawn and filled in. This is my least favorite part of the app. I would much rather design my blocks in EQ or Illustrator and be able to bring them into the app than design my blocks in Quiltler. Maybe the future holds updates to this area.

Challenging

I am able to set up what I need but it just is very challenging to do the different functions.

Frustrating

App continued to crash on me. Paid $2.99 and couldn’t even use the app.

So far so good

I just finished the basics of my first quilt. I managed to design a block, rotate and recolor it until I had something similar to what I wanted to create based on a test block I’d already made. I can see what the pattern will look like before I do any more blocks. The only thing I encountered that really slowed me down was that I couldn’t figure out how to make the ruler extend across the block layout page so I could place my point in an exact place opposite the ruler.
