Raiden Legacy FAQ
Is Raiden Legacy free?
Raiden Legacy is not free (it costs 4.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Raiden Legacy legit?
🤔 The Raiden Legacy app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Who’s brilliant idea was it to cover2/3’s of the playing screen with large button controls. Use to love this game but it’s been rendered unplayable. Well done developer’s you fixed something that didn’t need to be fixed and completely made it useless
Very poor performance
Runs terribly on an (admittedly) old ipad 2, only 3 games work at all (Raiden 1 crashes before starting). Sound is glitchy/gurgly on all games (unplayable on 4th game) though iCade support still works well. Even at sale price, not worth a purchase. Compared to Air Attack 2, this is unfortunately a stinker. Will be seeking a refund. Shame, as according to other reviews, it should run well.
Good but needs better controls
Expects you to wave your finger all over the screen, a virtual joystick would have been SOOO MUCH better. The more I play this to TRY to like this, the more the problems of having your finger obscuring what is going on onscreen becomes apparent, down to 3 stars.
And I cannot see the slightest difference whatsoever between normal and easy difficulty
Great but broken by ios update
Its a great retro shooter, one of the all time classics in fact and you get 4 raiden games for the price if one, but having skipped several ios updates I eventually upgraded to ios 13.4.1 and since then the game has been broken, it starts in a letter box format (which it never did before) then stretches the image when the game starts, and the pause button is now smaller and hidden behind the score and smart bomb buttons stuck in the middle of the screen I hope they fix it soon it was my go to rage outlet ;D
Needs MIFI Support
Hope the developer will add MIFI support. This is the only port of Raiden Fighters games in PAL territories. The 1:1 finger movement is not a great experience of playing it.
bad port
the game plays way too fast. you need to limit the fps to 54 like the arcade otherwise it’s pretty much unplayable as is. i feel ripped off.
Great nostalgic feel, but is only 40% accurate to the originals due to speed and aspect ratio
Thanks for making this playable on the iPhone. Hats off. However I have some grips with what you’ve made here.
1) the frame rate for Raiden 1 is way too fast compared to the original, almost making it unplayable. Please fix and update
2) the window view for Raiden 1 is totally wrong. It’s not long enough, and your full screen is too long?!? If you had to fix one, please correct the full screen view so it matches the original portrait view we experienced in the arcades. Thank you ;)
Raiden, my all time favourite
Thanks for creating Raiden and the three other games in the series for download. You have made my year. I have been trying to find this for download for years!!!
I used to play Raiden in the arcades back in the 1990’s, and the memories are flooding back. Must have hammered £50 at least into the machine in the U.K. and Germany whenever I found a machine.
Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you
If you have never played Raiden, but like a real good shoot em up, this is the game for you. An absolute gem!!
Good, but......
This game is decent enough, but would be excellent if it actually had a floating joystick, instead of the awkward way you move your plane around the screen at the moment. Even changing the control method requires you to use both hands to move the ship from one side of the area to the opposite side. This would be a 5 star shooter, except without a virtual stick, this is very difficult to progress through.
No Raiden
Raiden, the original game just crashes when launching on iOS 9. I am happy to re-review once this is fixed, but for now, it's just 3 stars (because it's not completely unplayable).
Please fix the issues!
