Don’t do it. It’s more like -2.0. I downloaded 2.0. It did not copy over existing app info. 2.0 Asked me to enter rain bird username and password. It did not have keyboard access to enter information. I had to remove app and try to find old app to download.
Weird UI
I spent 45 minutes trying to set this up and I give up. Just glad, I didn’t delete the old version which also has a poor user interface but not nearly as complex.
original Rain Bird app I will not be going to the 2.0
The Wi-Fi connection is horrible. It has already burned up one of my pumps. I will be switching back to an orbit.
Nice update… but
(Update)thank you for adding the calendar with run notifications its help me by showing that that system has minimal Wi-Fi connection and can’t connect to this app, not sure how to fix the problem from here cause I’ve already added Wi-Fi extenders, but it was super helpful to know great job app team. (original post) I would really like to see a history of the system and station running, it’s Florida and we get lots of wet weather predictions so I don’t want to have to manually start the system ever suspended for rain announcement I get, some of those rainstorms last 2-5 min with no raindrops visible on the ground after 10-15 minutes.
Bad app
Doesn’t let me past the privacy policy, just keeps opening a new window stating I accepted and with an Open in option.
Regret.
I regret downloading this. Set up failed several times now I can’t access my settings or control my system.
Worse App Ever Created
Title says it all. I have been disconnected from the system and reentered new info so many times that I am barely maintaining my sanity. An app with a current rating of 2.7 which I consider to be overrated. I give it a rating of .0017 a Quick Look of reviews shows most people know how to create an app and these people are irked at the ineffectness of this app and Rainbirds inability to correct it.
Issue resolved.
Downloaded this app hoping it would be more reliable than the previous one- and of course, not compatible with my controller EVEN THOUGH my house is brand new and we just had the system installed last fall. So back to the “communication error…” on the first app.
UPDATED 10/9/2024
Rainbird tech support reached out to me in regards to this issue as well as our issues with the original Rainbird app. Our issues with Rainbird 1.0 are completely resolved and I was informed they are working on getting more controllers added to the 2.0 App. Now that 1.0 is working I’m not sure I’d upgrade, but it’s nice to know at some point I will be able to should I choose. Thank you Rainbird!
While the new features might be nice, upgrading is painful
Really, I have to delete the old app in order to upgrade since it says my email is in use already. This is not an upgrade, I do those all the time for other apps. What a pain.
New Update Wipes Data
Be aware that this update will disconnect all controllers from the app and they must be manually reconnected by standing inches from the controller. So if your controller is in another location, you’re screwed.
New interface may have more capabilities (still exploring) but is nothing compared to the look of the previous.
