Description

Random Timer Generator is a random countdown timer that allows you to input a Minimum and Maximum time, and then it will start a random timer somewhere within that range.
Random Timer Generator allows you to create random timer countdowns, which makes it great as an exercise timer, a meditation timer, a random timer for studying, a Musical Chairs timer, or as a timer for Hot Potato style games like Catch Phrase, The Last Word, Pass The Bomb... or Hot Potato.

************************************

FEATURES

* Fully configurable random countdowns with adjustable seconds, minutes, and hours
* Supports timer durations from 0 seconds to 24 hours
* The timer and alarm will still run properly even if your screen is locked or you have another app open
* Enable or disable countdown noise options
* Enable or disable showing how much time is left while the random timer is going
* Sounds an alarm when the timer hits 0. Choose from different alarm noise options, or go silent with vibrate-only option
* Upload your own sound or song as the countdown sound, the sound when timer ends, or the sound when break period ends
* Animates and vibrates when going off, so you'll notice the timer expiring in a noisy situation
* Looping mode - set a random timer to go off repeatedly, so the next random timer starts again after one ends. You can even add a "break period between random timers", where you can set how many seconds you'd like as a break between random timers when Loop mode is on.
* If Looping mode is on, it will tell you how many loops you have completed

Random Timer Generator is great for:

* Games
There are many Hot Potato style games where you don't want to be the person holding the ball (or potato) when the random timer goes off. Random Timer Generator works great for these Hot Potato style games, such as Catch Phrase, The Last Word, Pass The Bomb... or Hot Potato. Also great for board games where you need a random timer

* Meditation
When meditating, you may want to set a timer... but not know exactly when that timer will end (for example, a random timer that will go off somewhere between 10 and 30 minutes). Random Timer Generator works great for that.

* Exercise
While exercising, you may want to have a random timer for doing certain exercises, but not know exactly how long you will need to do it for. For example, you could set a minimum of 15 seconds and a maximum of 60 seconds while holding a forearm plank.

* Musical Chairs

With Random Timer Generator, you can set a random timer (for example between 5 seconds and 30 seconds) to go off for playing Musical Chairs. You can even have it playing songs while the timer is counting down.

* Studying
Andrew Huberman has popularized the Gap Effect or Spacing Effect method of studying, where you have a random timer go off every now and then while studying, to give yourself a short break. During that break, your brain replays what you were just learning at hyper speed.

Random Timer Generator Reviews

Almost perfect (for me)

This app would be perfect for my use if I could set “active hours”… like if I only want the random timer to be working from 8am to 10pm. Bonus feature would be to select days for “weekdays only”. Not a big deal to just pause and resume the timer but I’d love to be able to “set and forget” :)

Pretty good but missing a few things

After paying the $8 to unlock, I was disappointed to learn if you use the repeater loop and a custom sound that is longer that 2-3 seconds, you don’t hear the entire sound, just 2-3 seconds. And even if you use the “add a break between timers” option, it still cuts off the sound when looping is turned on. Additionally, the alarm seems to always include vibrate, there is seemingly no option for sound alone, which is kind of annoying. Other that it’s good, but hoping the developer sees this and makes a few small tweaks to get a 5th star from me. Thanks!

This app is perfect for workouts!

If you don’t have a trainer, it’s perfect to do your sets and to not know when you’ll be done, to really push yourself, FIVE STAR

Great for PsyOping yourself into better planks

The random timer is great for planks. Instead of doing my 1 minute holds, I set the timer to go off between 45 and 90 seconds. That means there’s some chance I’ll get off easy, but more than likely, I’m going extra time 😬. Not knowing exactly when the timer ends makes me commit to the hold so much better. Great app, clean interface, does exactly what I want it to do!

Very Helpful

Very helpful app. I use it to motivate myself to stay on task. To the developer: I love that you took someone else’s suggestion to show the completed time when a hidden timer finishes. I would love it even more if that went one step further so that the completed time stayed visible until the next timer starts. I usually remember to note the time before I turn the alarm off, but sometimes I forget. Thanks so much for a great app!

Just what I needed

Planning on using this at the shooting range for target practice. Easy to use, nothing fancy, everything you need to set off a random alarm. Thanks for putting this in the App Store!

Great for breaks between learning

Taking a 10-second pause to do nothing about every two minutes—ideally a random duration that averages to two minutes—is great for improving retention. This app is perfect for this purpose and it has some pleasant sounds to choose from. I use it in conjunction with mild white noise, which also improves learning.

Using it for study

Great app for using to randomly take you out of studying very few minutes so that you remain rested for another session. Enjoy the simplicity, ease of use, and the support wants to hear from you! Thanks

Game changer

Finally found it! Been needing this forever. This is a game changer for explosive workouts.

Ehhhhhh

The app was great and then at some point in the last month, from what I can tell, it changed. There are only two things that I need at random timer to do. 1 go off at a random time, and 2 go off at the volume I set it at. I use this for emergency preparedness. I don’t see any other reason why you would need this app. It still goes off randomly, but the volume changes on its own. Now I get during an emergency it’s going to be loud and chaotic, but I can do that by other means and I don’t need an app blowing out my cell phone speaker. Also the alarm itself plays something different. So you put it on explosion and on the third time it plays gong, you put it on beep and by the 2nd time it plays arcade. Now I don’t care about that one so much but it’s odd. I already tried deleting and reinstalling the app.
