Kitchen scientists—graph and save temperature data to experiment with your recipe. Or, use Range as an instant-read thermometer and get audio alerts to nudge you when your candy has hit the hard ball stage.
• Real-time temperature readings. Check the temperature over the Internet from any iOS device.
• Set rising or falling temperature alerts with a swipe of a finger.
• Remote alerts to all your iOS devices when your dish is done.
• USDA and gourmet presets for meat and candy make it even easier to cook a perfect dish.

Range cooking thermometer Reviews

My first medium rare steak

alex45561 on

I was pretty excited about trying this out. Watching the temperature go up from the other room was awesome. It also lets you know the estimated time to ideal temperature based on how fast food is heating up. I honestly don’t know what level of done my steak was in the past, but after seeing what an actual medium rare looks like, I feel lucky I never gave myself food poisoning in my uninformed cooking adventures and grateful for the culinary deliciousness I now cook with the Range.

Love it

I’ve had a range since their kickstarter campaign and I upgraded when they came out with the dial. It’s make cooking in the kitchen way easier and more precise. Only thing I wish they would add is a watch widget so do I don’t need to be near my phone.

Ever since I have upgraded to the new iPhone the thermometer will not connect. Good luck to everyone else. Looking for an alternative smart thermometer.

FRUSTRATING

Update. Many issues with connecting. After the update it won’t connect and the ap keeps crashing. Now what? Dinner is ruined?

Can't use it with my Range Dial. It crashes every time I use it. Please fix it.

App needs some serious work

I received the Range dial as a gift. The concept is great, but the app does not work. I'm unable to get a temperature to hold. The temp grid doesn't show up. Please put some work into your app.

Desired feature

To be able to directly plug ANY thermometer cable into the 3.5mm jack would make this app a MUST for every home cook. It would also be a great gateway to your product. Suggestion: make this app function with any thermometer cable and charge a small price ($2-$5) With your product, include a coupon code for the AppStore to get the app for free. I don't want to hurt your business so I will rate 5 stars even though I can't currently use it.

Great app, but where's the Apple Watch app?

Love using the app, with the iPod touch I have, but iGrill has passed it with Apple Watch Support

Great app!

I use this all the time for grilling. Indispensable.

only get alerts when in the foreground? How is that useful?

Matsubue on

United States

"Alerts that you set on your remote device (not the one that Range is plugged into) will be triggered while the app is in the foreground only, to conserve bandwidth and battery life.” So you are saying if I have a Range plugged in to a remote device, and I want to get alerts on the iPhone in my pocket.. I have to have the Range app in the foreground on the iPhone in my pocket or I will not receive an alert when whatever I am cooking is done? Is that right? If so.. how is that even remotely useful?
