Rayo - Radio & Music

I like the look of the app, I prefer it to Planet Rock but since it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay support, I don’t really use it since I mainly listen to radio in the car.

The app is ok, but missing the CarPlay for which in 2024 if an iOS radio app doesn’t have CarPlay it feels like it is missing a key feature which have been available on Global Player and BBC iPlayer. Obviously this feature isn’t as important to Bauer as it is to other radio groups… but it should be, if you look at report after report, digital radio is on the rise, including in the car… just not with Bauer… get with the times guys and gals!

I pay for premium and cannot access them when using this app, there really is no point in me using this app right now, I can only get the better quality streams when using a pc, the cost of premium should be cut in half if you cannot give us the top quality streams through the app

Was hoping this would mean I could get rid of the individual station apps GHR, Absolute etc but unless I’m missing something obvious this app doesn’t seem to recognise that I have a premium subscription…?

Oh, you really need to fix the ongoing Alexa issues where there are 5 second breaks every hour or so…….. free premium subscription reaching its end, and I’d hate to cancel……..

Finally all the Bauer stations in one app! Still needs work though, please add favourite stations (all stations) and most importantly Apple CarPlay, without CarPlay support I won’t use in the car I will use global player. Thanks!

Missing CarPlay? I know it says coming soon, but that’s been ages. 😜 It’s also a tad slow to connect to the streams, seems to be a problem with Bauer stations. Happens across apps like Radioplayer, web and the old apps like Clyde 1 etc. Anyhow, good app apart from that

The app is pretty good & does what it says on the tin. The Alexa skill is not so impressive, especially if you use the premium service. Initially, linking the skill with my Rayo account didn’t work but that has been resolved. In summary therefore, app good & tech support good. Alexa skill a bit more wobbly.

No point in having this if you have premium, you’ll be bombarded with ads anyway. Back to the old app for me.

No direct AirPlay support for AirPlay speakers. Handoff isn’t reliable enough. Quality of streams are not as good as no Hd option. Layout is nice and I like how the algorithm works to find music you would want to listen to in terms of playlists and radio. Not quite at the level of the competitors yet but a good start.
