Description

Be sure to check out http://www.clevertangerine.com, look over the user’s guide, ask us — RCLogbook does many things that some of the reviews claim it does not (for example, logging without the timer, having to shake the device to operate the timer, etc).
RCLogbook is an iOS application designed by an RC pilot for RC modelers who need a convenient and effortless logging solution for their RC models and batteries.
Once you enter some basic information about your models and batteries (such as names, capacities, photos, propellers, and so on), RCLogbbok takes over to help you capture and edit information on flights (or races) such as the total time, location, notes, or average current draw. RCLogbook allows you to filter models, batteries, events, and other information with filtering expressions.
RCLogbook is designed to integrate seamlessly with your modeling by traveling with you to the flying field, racetrack, or lake. RCLogbook provides a timer allowing you to update your logs as you fly or race your models. It can also operate away from the field by allowing you to log events manually.
With RCLogbook, you can keep a log of each flight or race that includes the duration, notes, location, propeller, style, fuel and the batteries that were used. RCLogbook automatically tracks the total time on the model, number of flights, and so on. RCLogbook‘s built-in timer is fully integrated with the tracking making it easy to gather information. The timer supports count up and down modes and can use voice or musical chimes to let you know when you need to think about bringing your model back. The timer is optional and can be operated through gestures or through screen buttons.
RCLogbook tracks battery charge and discharge cycles including per-pack and per-cell resting voltages, per-pack and per-cell internal resistances, discharge durations, charge amounts, and storage charge state. RCLogbook automatically updates discharge information at the end of a flight or race and can compute the average current draw during the flight or race. Using this information, you can watch the health of your batteries thorough a number of battery performance plots.
To make logging even easier, RCLogbook can generate barcodes and use a built-in barcode scanner to select batteries and models for events.
RCLogbook also supports maintenance logs and checklists allowing you to keep up to date on keeping your models in top shape.
“The programmers have done a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the iPhone's gestures, look, and feel.” — "Worth A Closer Look", Model Aviation

RCLogbook Reviews

Love it. Looks great and clean.

Great way to log details and memories. Works smooth and does its jobs well. Been using it for years. I did encounter the only downside about the “need” to shake, which some wrote about. I learned this is not true and can easily be set in iOS Settings - RCLogbook - Events ! In more detail: Quickly log past flight(s) OR log on the field and use the app as a timer.. Choose either entry method: Just tap once or tap twice on the listed model! In regards of timer: activate timer by shaking, OR the push of a button. I prefer to tap once to log past flight(s). In case of actively timing a current flight I choose to touch screen to start (shaking disabled). To set these two preferences: in iOS System Settings - RCLogbook - Events. I log all my flights post-flight (at home in the evening on the couch or at the club field after I disconnected the battery). This is easy and quick.

Best app for the real RC pilot

Really nice app with all the features you need to properly manage your fleet of RC vehicles and battery's only problem with the latest version is the total hour counter of the pilot shows less hours then the total of all vehicles together, I reported problem, for now 4 stars! if they fix this the app would be the best!

Some nasty quirks

When adding Battery you first have to add discharge cycle. For lipo that is not common You cannot turn off timer. Have to use that. Irritating

Best of the RC apps still

I’ve used this app for years and can say this is still the best little app on the market. I hope the developer keeps supporting it.

Great product. I use every time I fly!

Such a great tool for keeping my planes and batteries, maintenance under control. I fly every week and have about 15 planes I fly regularly and this keeps me on track with each plane. The reporting function is very powerful to understand the history of your experiences with each plane. Great job!

I have been using this app for a few years and I love it.

Good but could be better

So far, it’s the best flight and battery logging app I’ve found, but has room for improvement. The flight timer feature gets in the way and slows data entry down if you’re like me and use your transmitter’s timer instead. It could be easier to log flights in bulk at the end of the day. Also wish there were notifications warning you after a few days if you left your LiPo batteries at anything other than storage charge.

Great Log Keeping for batteries and drones
