Reading Train Reviews

Fantastic ABC app for beginning readers

Reading Buddies on

United States

My kids can't get enough of this app. I work with special needs students and they are so excited to be able to read the books all by themselves. The illustrations are delightful, and the books introduce some interesting vocabulary. After they read, they can play a game where they answer questions by putting answers on a train. They love to hear the funny words of encouragement from the narrator who tells them how well they are doing. I am really impressed with the way kids can hold the words to hear them spoken and see and hear definitions of unfamiliar vocabulary, like anteater, astronaut and anchor in the A Book. Earning coins to spend on music books is a great reward system. Everyone has a favorite song and they have quickly learned the words to sing along. My kids have special needs and they don't usually feel very confident about their reading. This app is making them proud and they are eager to record themselves so they can show me what they learned. Overall the best app I have found for early reading.
