I can’t rate it that low, because it is fairly advertised. But the game only follows some of the rules of chess. Surprising, given the random nature, castling is one. The RNG of starting positions can be undergoing/unfair/annoying. The AI is weird. It completely misses undefended pieces, unless it’s has a reason to move the attacking piece. Sometimes it seems to see exchanges many moves ahead, sometimes it lets you take its pieces for no discernible reason. Sometimes it just repeats moves in the back field over and over. I suspect the actual ‘game’ here is working out all the flaws of the AI, and how to exploit them. Which isn’t my idea of fun, but it was entertaining for a while.
CRAPPY
Fix this please.
Brilliant version of chess! Thid runs smoothly on out iPad but after first game this starts to crash down on my iPhone 4 iOS 7.xxxx
Need a way out of drawn game other than surrendering. I'd rather uninstall the game than surrender a game where the opponent isn't even trying to win.
Too many ads!! If I wanted to see this many ads, I would’ve gone to Times Square on New Years Eve
It’s pretty normal in mobile games to just beat you over the head with ads constant, but you get them every time a game ends. You can pay to get rid of the ads, but I’d rather uninstall it and not think about this rather cool, random and pretty fun little game.
This is one of the best pieces of training material I’ve consumed, surprisingly. Within three days, playing this alongside regular boring chess boosted my ELO from around 850 to 1050. If you’re at a beginner/intermediate level, this game actually creates a lot of teachable moments. At higher levels, you have to approach this game with the goal of making something out of nothing. I believe this is something that is easily translatable to regular chess, and ever since playing a bit of ranked RBC at the 60-80 level I’ve noticed major improvements to my chess performance. I went into this assuming it would be a fun mindless arcade game that I’d play when bored, but it has surprisingly become invaluable to my chess performance. Not a huge fan of the paywalls, but the devs gotta eat somehow. This game is up on Apple Arcade if you don’t want paywalls, which has a 3mo trial for new users, so if you can, give it a try. This game is seriously great if you enjoy chess and want to sharpen your skills.
This app is a great way to play chess and relax while using different combinations of pieces on both sides of the board. Is there a way to use it on a Kindle tablet?
