REALRIDER® Reviews

It’s getting there..

Much better since recent update and customer service/replies to email are quick. Yeah, it pushes it’s crash detection in your face a bit too much for those of us who don’t want to use the feature. Borders on annoying. Needs navigation feature. Careful saving your tracked routes. Lost a few in the clunky process of saving. Really needs a ‘save before exit’ warning so routes aren’t lost. My fault really, but app could be a bit more helpful here. Options to change colour scheme? The green gets boring fast.. Good app overall.

Reassuring

Medicsooty on

I have had this app since the day it was released realising that, as a rider, and a Paramedic how useful it would be. Since it’s inception I have encouraged riders of all levels to install it and use it as it not only makes sense, but it works. If (hopefully never) emergency assistance is required, this has your back, side, front and offers that reassurance. Go on, grab it

Great app perfect for bikers

Got this app after finally getting my motorcycle and it’s an amazing peace of mind app that allows you to track your routes and friends route. But the main bonus is the crash detection I myself haven’t and hope to never have to use this feature but it’s amazing to have there if the unexpected happens and it contact my local emergency services. All I have to add is this app is missing two features I’d like to see. One being a navigation addition so you can use it for routes and it provide the directions like Google maps for example. Second being the ability to add emergency contacts that also get pinged if you do have an accident, I’m aware the main reason for not having this is to avoid any unwanted worry for your loved ones for example but the ability to have it at your own choice to ping them would be amazing and helpful Apart from those two things this app is great and if the app devs respond I’ll be excited to read the response 100% recommend though.

Great App

Superb app, easy to use with great support. I use it every time I ride and even on commutes, gives everyone that peace of mind. Brilliant job on the updates with group riding capabilities and the link to social media is effortless. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough!!

New app is broken.

New app new bugs. Profile section crashes. Doesn’t allow photo upload. Searching the map and no results are ever returned. Please do some QA before deploying to prod. I’d recommend following a TDD approach.

Safety on a Smartphone

Hoppielimp on

United Kingdom

I have been a user of Realrider almost since its inception. This App is almost 10 years in constant development with each update refined to make the available smartphone technology work for your safety. I believe its the only App that has been approved to link to Emergency Services directly with an automatic ability to send your location if all the algorithms determine you are incapacitated. There are a few apps out there that say they do the same thing except they contact your “Emergency List”. That requires your list of friends to respond on your behalf…”if” they see the Apps message. I believe Detecht is an SOS App, but only works with the Emergency Services in Sweden ONLY. “Realrider” however, is connected to Emergency Services in North America, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. For us bikers that tour different countries throughout UK and Europe the seamless protection and direct communication with Emergency Services could be life saving. Lets face it, Emergency services would not integrate Apps into their systems if it did not meet stringent requirements including minimal false alarms. The fact that Realrider has managed this should speak volumes. The amount we spend on our bikes, fuel, clothing, protection the yearly subscription pales in comparison to the protection you hope to never need. Ps - One thing people, weirdly ask me alot… does it record speed…Realrider does NOT record your speed. Pss - yes I am a fan. Psss - support is fantastic.

Great App and customer service

I’ve been using the App almost since it’s introduction and have nothing but praise for it. Their customer service is also without fault.

Great price of mind.

This is a great app. I use it whenever I am away on the bike. It adds another level of support while on the bike. Great for recording and sharing routes.

Website suggests company no longer trading..

As a keen biker this app caught my eye. Seems like a good idea. However, having researched the company on the web I’m not sure if they are still trading, so I won’t be buying...

Brilliant necessity for any rider

Seawing 86 on

United Kingdom

I enjoy exploring new places and riding on my own. It’s nice to get away from everything and do solo riding. But at the same time that’s when you’re at your most vulnerable, because if you come off your bike there my be no-one around to help. So knowing that realrider is keeping an eye on my ride and will send out help if I ever get into difficulty is a great piece of mind.
