Recreation.gov

I can’t get past the sign up screen because it says I don’t have a valid phone number. It’s the same US number I’ve had for DECADES. I don’t understand how the reviews are so good...maybe it's a glitch with the latest update. I guess I’ll try a different app.

I was having issues with the Recreation.org website today and downloaded their app with low hopes. However, I was greeted by a better functioning app and more campsite availability for the location/weekend I was look at. Yay!

This app has GREATLY improved! I can now search by map, see the available dates on a calendar, see reviews and pictures all without having to go back to the main page and type it all in again.

The permit booking system for Yosemite and Inyo is quite good but clunky compared to talking directly to a ranger who knows the area and can give better guidance. The mapping for campgrounds is awful. Previous versions seemed more accurate and you could visualize the site you were booking. Now it’s hard to even work out which side of the road a site might be.

Phone number validation not working correctly on app signup screen makes the app useless. Poor programming and total fail during testing.

Easier and better way to book permits than through the web.

Makes camping so easy, best app you could hope for from govt

I tried to pay for my camping spot online. The app wouldn’t let me select the dates on the calendar to pay online.
