Description

A retro computing / pixel art camera app.
Retrospecs lets you convert images and video clips so they appear as they would on a wide variety of home computers and consoles from the 70's, 80's and 90's.
Simply take a picture (or select one from your photo library) and you can display it as it would appear on over forty systems including the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, IBM PC (DOS, CGA, EGA and VGA), Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, Sega Mega Drive, Nintendo Game Boy and even the original 1984 model Apple Macintosh. If that's not enough you can also create your own custom modes based around four different graphics engines and a wide variety of colour palettes and character fonts. (The free version only contains a limited number of systems/dither modes and the custom editors, video clip processing and animation options aren't available.)

What a gem!

As an original 8 bit user and before, this is remarkably close to original display outputs. It would be awesome if you could type in say an old basic listing and output it as an image in the original font. That would make this a solid 12 out of 10 but as it is, if you are looking for an original pixelated aesthetic, this is massively quicker and more accurate than using an high end image editor. Outstanding. 8 bit at its best. Buy it.

Awesome!

Take a trip back to the golden era of computers and recreate the feeling of the imagery you grew up with, by running your photos from the present through a massive range of emulated systems of the past, from Gameboy to IBM CGA, from Atari 2600 to Amiga. Endlessly fiddle-with-able. Get it.
