No logic support?

JV101101 on

Doesn’t currently work with Logic

Great app…

HillaryBrown on

…but seemingly abandoned by the developer. Crashes constantly in Logic. Best to avoid.

Do not buy, this is now 100% DEAD

Swidbert R. Ott on

DO NOT BUY this is abandonware now. Used to sort of work ok under earlier versions of iPadOS although it was always glitchy. The developers only released it to get traction on the desktop and then left it to die. No updates in years, no responses. It no longer works - in standalone mode, it hangs on launch with a black screen; as a plugin it crashes either instantly or within seconds.

Good plugin but no support

Vdk82 on

Great tones, however I had some issues with the plugin and their support never got back to me.

No updates.

JJ.Jo on

Its good but no updates for 2 years? Few features like green channel and delay control is missing.

WOW.

First of all, I am a pro musician and have been a musician for almost 30 years and play 3instruments, including electric guitar. Second, I am a tube amp lover. To me the best distortion can come only from tubes. Having said that, here's my thoughts about RHINO: 1. It blew my mind right from the start: I was greeted with a beautiful lush clean texture that immediately made me aware that this is a top notch product. And the distorted tones blew my mind just as well: the speaker sim is fantastic. 2. The interface is beautiful. I never really cared for interfaces as to me what matter is how it sounds, but you can tell this is really a product of love. 3. The price is INCREDIBLE. On desktop this would probably cost 8 times more and still be worth it. 4. I own all the best amp sims on ipad.....Amplitube, THU, Ampkit, etc, and RHINO is definitely a KILLER amp sim. Another thing I love about is that this is not trying to simulate a frigging amp that was used by Chuck Berry......RHINO was built for METAL. KILLER clean METAL tones, killer METAL distorted tones. What I am after is KILLER GUITAR TONES for METAL. I mainly use my amp sims as SPEAKER CAB sims for my tube preamps, but honestly I am seriously impressed by everything here. Grab this NOW. This app is a WORK OF ART. Some people mentioned Tonestack. I bought that too, and deleted the app (it's not bad, but for me it met the same fate as Bias FX2). But RHINO is definitely a keeper👍⚡️ ---- update: after downloading the manual from the website and exploring every nook and cranny of this superb amp sim, I LOVE how it is geared toward the RECORDING MUSICIAN: so you find a top notch multiband compressor and limiter, and a MATCHING EQ! and more. Yes. YES. And I reiterate that the asking price makes this an amazing bargain! -----UPDATE, after at first leaving 5 stars for the sounds and general quality, I have now to detract two stars because it is true that it crashes in garageband as AUV3 as lther reviewer mentioned. I'll give 5 stars once this is sorted. For now, for me it's THU as I need auv3

At last an app that fills that void.

Sounds great but crashes regularly

cmc1986music on

Great tones however shame about the constant crashing when used as an AUV3 in GarageBand that makes it difficult to use. Reached out to the developer a couple of times a couple of different ways but no response. A real shame because otherwise it would be a fantastic app

Excellent - great AUv3 tone right out of the overdriven box.

Having a massive aisle-upon-aisle type of FX system just obtained for iOS/iPadOS a week ago, has actually made me decide to buy this. A quick’n’easy overdrive app, standalone and AUv3, Rhino is an easy-to-use effective tone box for guitar, or anything to be processed you want in that way. On expanding the AUv3, the front fascia has all the guitarist’s immediate needs - a large-ish EQ section with real-time waveform visible, and the flanger, chorus, phaser FX, and down bottom right the echo AND delay, I guess echo is tape-style, maybe delay is more transistor type?! The central ‘dial’ is minimalist and for the overdrive amount, it’s 4.0 right as the AUv3 appears, and that was good to get squeals in the style of ZZTop. But there are a gaggle of preset creators in the preset list, alongside the Developer themselves, and if the impression given is this is a cheap alternative app that is just for trying a few riffs out, that’s not the case at all. It’s really very good, I’ve paid more for less expressive and less-detailed tones. A great alternative to spending an hour at a time on ‘soundchain design’, Rhino is a very nice-sounding growly, squealing, fuzzy way to dive straight into playing that tone, not building it yourself. In fact, for the price, if all somebody did was design the tones, you couldn’t possibly get that done so cheaply. Not only is it very good as an effects box for guitar, but it’s very affordable, and I have bought it IN ADDITION to having just got a huge aisle-by-aisle system of FX that is brain-numbing with the range and subtle differences and nuances. In a way, Rhino is a great alternate FX unit to the inbuilt stuff in GB itself. It’s got a different layout, and doesn’t have detailed cabinets or amps graphics with gold-tops on them, but if we just decide that the outputted TONE is the important thing, and the minimal Rhino graphics like the trademark ‘multiple 50p-piece’ type dials are appreciated for improving real-time response, there’s nothing second-class about the sounds. After all, that gold-topped amp graphic, does NOT show the waveform changing in real-time when you alter the EQ! So functionally, this effects box is in fact superior. I love my massive recent purchase of super-detailed FX and one day, I’ll even properly be able to make full use of that level of control. But, the fact I got this as a sort of ‘reaction’ to the wall of technical complexity of that ‘aisle-upon-aisle’ system of amps and cabinets and FX pro

Very nice 🤟

Makes everything sing 👍 ( apologies for initial review, AUv3 found 🙄)
