Rhythm is the successor to the meditation timer and scheduler I couldn't find. I wanted something flexible but simple and which would importantly both time meditation and schedule it (with a daily reminder).
It is simple: quickly select a duration (perhaps with some bells to recall your attention) and hit start. Set a daily reminder and target minutes to help establish a regular meditation practice.
As a motivational boost you can see completed meditation sessions in your History and how they compare to your target.
Your history is saved via iCloud so you can use on multiple devices.
There are a few additional resources and tools, such as a breathing timer and short introduction to meditation. And now it includes a fully customisable breathing timer: set a in, hold, out and pause time and follow the animated guide.
