Rig Manager FAQ
Is Rig Manager free?
Yes, Rig Manager is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Rig Manager legit?
🤔 The Rig Manager app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
For the profiler player, I was frustrated when the mobile app would not connect. It turns out you have to first load rig manager on computer with usb and then from the computer edit the wifi setup and store the ssid and password. Once that is done then change the phone or ipad wifi to match what you input. This is weird and counter intuitive. Once your network is resolved the mobile app will work. I would like to see the apps show factory and community rigs but it will only show installed rigs. You can install rigs using the desktop rig manager via usb. Again, weird but since the Player device has no screen, necessary.
Does not connect
This app will not connect to my Kemper access point like everyone says it should. Keeps saying the app needs to have access to devices on the network but it doesn’t show in my apps list to give permissions. It’s like the app isn’t on my iOS at all.
One key feature still needed
Love this and purposely got a PoE switch so I could use this app with the Remote.
But the Rig browsing is awful. Need to be able to select from a full list, not just next/previous. It’s almost unusable as a Mac Rig Manager replacement due to this.
Big help for those that struggle to connect it
For a long time I tried to connect the app with my Kemper Stage and it was all in vain. Here’s THE BEST advice: USE THE CAMERA ON YOUR IPHONE TO READ THE QR CODE on your Kemper Stage NOT THE QR SCANNER! The QR scanner won’t connect with it.
YOU’RE WELCOME!
One simple feature would be great
This is a pretty helpful app save for one massive frustration. The next best thing to owning a Kemper is… collecting great profiles. Many of us have dozens or hundreds or more. You have ten thousand plus on your own Rig Exchange!
So imagine not being able to select the rig you want without having to scroll forwards or backwards — one at a time! A simple drop-down menu would save this app! Please!?
Good hardware
But this is too complicated to set up - easier to just use RM on a computer. Dealing with gstring and Petersen, just can’t recommend Kemper though. Check out Fractal, Line6 or ToneX.
Makes my life easier!
Great for quick on the fly adjustments. Love my Kemper stage!
Update your app for the love of god
Kemper players, save yourself the headache, and use this on iPad rather than iPhone. I had finally gotten this app to work with iOS 16.3 due to the app attempting to use cellular connection instead of local wifi by turning off cellular within the settings.
But after updating to 16.4 after a forced reset of my phone and all its settings, this will no longer connect as the app no longer is displayed in the cellular settings or the standard “application” section of settings. For the love of god Kemper, stay up to date with your products, or I will sell this for a competitors modeler with a better UX.
READ IF IPHONE WON’T CONNECT
I could not get my iPhone to connect to my Kemper Stage (iPad was fine). Solution was to go to Settings -> Cellular and turn it OFF for Rig Manager. Now it connects!!
App is great for editing on the fly and not having to bend over to do so. Wish you could browse through your profiles though!
Great
So happy Kemper made an iPhone app. Extremely convenient to switch rigs in performance mode from my couch while jamming with my kemper on the other side of the room.
Way easier interface than the physical box and nice to not have to plug in a computer.
Main feature request: switch from performance to browser and back within the app
