Was really excited when I came across this, thinking it would be perfect for family news reading without some of the inappropriate content of the real news - but turns out you need a subscription so had to delete as can’t access.

Rockerbox News is an award-winning non-fiction reading platform for young people. New articles are published on Rockerbox News daily and every article is available at 5 different reading levels.
Rockerbox News articles are guaranteed to be timely, positive, age appropriate, and national curriculum-aligned. Every article is followed by related multiple choice and open-ended questions that check understanding and encourage discussions.
On Rockerbox News, young people will be reading about positive current affairs and special days, consolidating their knowledge across national curriculum subjects, and learning about places and people around the world.
Rockerbox News is inclusive by design. Each young person has their own personalised account and their teacher will set the correct reading level. They can also enable or disable different subjects and accessibility features such as the option to read the text aloud.
The lowest reading level in Rockerbox News is designed for young people reading at a Year 1/Primary 2 level. The highest level aligns with the key vocabulary, grammar, and learning outcomes in Year 6/Primary 7.

Brilliant App
I have been using this App a while now and I love the way that you can personalise it to suit individual interests. Would be great to use in a classroom environment or at home with the children. I work in Education and think this would be a great tool for many schools to use. I also think the ability to use the voice option is great and therefore can reach audiences that have visual impairments or other learning needs. I’m learning new things each day !

Easy to navigate and really interesting content. Definitely not just for children. Makes learning fun, just as it should be.
I love using this app!
I’m piloting this app and I think that we will keep using it for a while! It’s really fun and you can customise your account with little pictures. Also there are five new stories added everyday! One thing is that I find that the five stories a day isn’t really enough to last very long because they aren’t all that long. Overall, I think it’s a great platform to learn with!
