Top.
-clipping led
Drs1
Very disappointed in App and Drs1. Don’t know if mine has defects but nothing works. The app won’t stay connected and the Dsr won’t stay on
Good Launch but poor connectivity
Warning to whoever purchases a rockford fosgate DSR 1...the app launches good but you have to close out of it and reopen it before it will connect your phone to the unit for tuning. I love this DSP so i hope rockford improves on this!
Could be so much better
#1: App doesn't stay connected to the DSP1 very easily via BT.
#2: The presets should not be buried, but rather much easier to change on the fly. For example, if I'm listening to an audiobook I should just be able to quick tap into my audiobook preset.
#3: How about an Apple Car Play integration. This is primarily for car audio ... Duh.
Overall, it works as advertised, but it's a wonderful example of the app being an afterthought.
Rockford shouldn’t have released this yet
I hate to bash Rockford because I love their amps and will continue to buy them but this app and DSR1 is garbage for Rockford. Just getting the app to connect to the DSR1 is hard enough. My iPhone 8 with the current up to date software wouldn’t work. I had to use an iPhone 6 with an older software just to connect. Constantly throughout tuning the DSR1, making selections to crossovers and such makes the DSR1 freak out and plays high pitched buzzing and screeching sounds through all the speakers and preventing normal audio from playing. Only way to stop it is to disconnect the DSR1 from power and do it all over again. It’s basically useless. Rockford Fosgate is a really big and reputable car audio brand but this product absolutely hurts their reputation. Especially charging over $300 for the DSR1 and connections. They shouldn’t have even thought about releasing this product until all these bugs were worked out.
Needs Security Update
I am happy with the feature set to tune my DSR1, but not satisfied with the inability to set a passcode or any other security measures to protect my tune from any passer-by that has the app. Please update the app to include this basic security measure.
Semi stable needs updates
There are a lot of app crashes when going into various settings. There also needs to be an app “keep alive,” setting so the screen stays on while tuning and idle. Instead ill tweak something elsewhere or listen to a track and have to then unlock my phone and hope the app is still connected and wont crash on me. Other apps like pandora and logitech harmony keep the screen on by default
Does Not Work
Will not work with IOS 13. Disconnects from Bluetooth. Unable to change any settings.
Good features, but needs refinement
Used on a Focus ST with RF DSR1.
The app has an impressive array of tuning capabilities and features but I think it’s missing some functionality for basic users who don’t feel like tuning a 31 band Equalizer to adjust their sound. I think it’d be wise to add in some preset EQ settings like Rock, Classical, Rap, Country, more/less bass, etc. It’d be nice to see one of these audio companies step up with an app that has some level of automatic tuning built in but maybe that’s still a while out.
Another nice addition would be a way to choose from some ballpark time alignment (speaker placement) scenarios such as large/small car, large/small SUV, truck, motorcycle, school bus, etc. These measurements don’t need to be down to the inch and not every user wants to sit in the driver seat and run a tape measure from their ear to each speaker; although that is what I did.
I’ve also noticed the Bluetooth connection seems pretty touchy and the app will very often force close itself when opening the advanced tuning menu as it synchronizes with the tuning device (iPhone XR). Takes a couple attempts to get in sometimes.
Overall I like the concept and features but feel it’s buggy and needs some refinement for stability. Also maybe some basic EQ presets and preset settings for time alignment that can then all be fine tuned if the user chooses. Obviously not every situation can be predetermined but I know it would have saved me some time if there was a closer starting point.
Wont save eq and time alignment settings only crossovers and volume controls???
After tuning for couple hours setting up eq with rta and last time alignment .... it wont save the eq and time alignment settings previously set only the rest wt)&&&$) whats up with that rf??
