Rogue Blade

Rogue-like Strategy Card Game

Published by: Jampot Software co

Description

This is a strategy action game with rogue-like and deck-building. In this game, you'll play as a character embarking on an adventure through level after level, using your constructed deck to battle enemies. There's a variety of different classes to choose from, each with a ton of cards to help you plan out your strategy. Sounds simple, right? But every decision you make in battle leads to different outcomes. You gotta balance dodging or blocking enemy attacks while seizing opportunities to take them down.
Features:
* 5 character classes.
* More than 100 cards.
* Rogue-like dungeon crawling.
* A variety of enemies and bosses.
I gotta say, this game is TOUGH!

Some Good Ideas, but needs fixes

Honestly, there’s a good base here. The upgrades are interesting, and some of the options help you be pretty versatile. However, there’s quite a few issues. -I’ve never been able to afford anything in the first shop minus the potion and a lot of the cards you can get are just overall useless. -The enemies don’t scale, so you kind of just start mowing them down without much though -The classes usually don’t make sense. The barbarian class plays more like a monk, and his suplex skill felt pointless. The guard is great, but blink is not thematic. -There’s bugs. The revive for an ad doesn’t work, and about halfway through the map your cards will momentarily bug out. Thankfully nothing game breaking. The game has potential, but you begin to see the cracks pretty quickly.

Changed Review to 1 star

Dev has consistently “balanced” game to make it harder and harder, and most recently added in-game ads for “continues”. So the devs agenda is pretty obvious, avoid this game.

Balance way off

Updated my review to 1-star Dev released an update where you now start with half the health (from 15 to 7) and introduced an option to revive after death by watching ads… So it’s even more ridiculous than before. Don’t waste your time on this like I have. Original review: I was tempted to leave a 1-star review, but the game mechanics are good and there is a lot of potential. However, this game needs some serious adjustments to balance as it currently feels broken. Options to heal are few and comically underpowered (you restore like 2 HP) which is frustrating and almost useless. The odds are heavily stacked against you, feels more like a game of chance than strategy.
