Charging money when the official roku app is free

There has always been ads i didnt really care but all of the sudden this app is asking me to pay $25 a year or $4 a week to use it not option to opt out, the official roku app is free. Will not be using this app anymore

It was amazing, had some ads but I didnt mind. Now all of a sudden you have to pay to use which I said fine but now it doesn't even work. Takes FOREVER to connect and load the remote and when it finally connected it didnt even work, kept pressing the volume button and nothing happened.
