Crashes all the time and now locked out of projects

chihoctiengviet on

I’ve used the app for a few years now on my ipad. Within the past 6 months, the app has been getting worse and constantly crashes and doesn’t save changes. Now I can’t even log into my project. And, I paid for the upgraded version.

Nice to use

I’ve been using this app for 2 or 3 years and like it. However, it does have its limitations. I wish it worked more like a cad or revit program but not as complicated. Wish list would be things like: more modern fixtures/decorations; more vibrant or true colors and little more realistic finishes (especially the wood grains); the ability to move whole rooms; the addition of sidewalks and true porches and a better interface to make sunken living rooms and porches with steps that meet the ground levels of houses. Also, some kind of way to design more than 3 projects instead of doing multiple levels to show alternate designs; way to export the drawings in more universal formats; and better exterior design snd finish options. All in all, though, I do like the program and have been able to design professional looking floor plans and interior design renderings. But these other options would be totally cool to have.

This app is very good!

The app is very good I even got to make my dream house, rooms , and more! And you don’t need to pay for the furniture like in other apps! Enjoyable really!

Do not ‘try’ the PRO version!

I tried the pro version in hopes that a feature I needed would be in the pro version. It was not there and confirmed by support within 24 hours of purchase. Roomsketcher support said I could get my $ back if within 30 days, so I asked for a refund from apple right away. However, apple’s position is that my ‘reason’ was not valid for refund. Apparently, I “willingly purchased it and all sales are final”(this came from apple support). I should have lied and said I purchased it by accident and then I might have received the money back, but I do not lie. I honestly believe apple is tarnishing the brand of this small software company with this position. What was the feature I needed? I wanted to design 1 room and the replicate it several times. There is no way to select all of the components of a room and ‘copy/paste’ or replicate. This was a showstopper for me. This seems like a basic feature than any product should have, ESPECIALLY a PRO version. Too bad, there are some nice features in this product.

I love this app/tool & the support team behind the scenes.

I have had the Pro subscription for a few years now. I find it well worth the price. I’ve asked questions, made suggestions and each time I’ve been responded too within 24 hours. It’s a great tool for quick sketches and full designs. it’s true, I could use more patterns and colors in the material catalogue, but I’ve also seen some improvement here over the years. One request: please improve your tile use and placement especially on backsplash use and on walls where there are no boundaries for a tile to die into. Thanks again!

Impossible

I thought I’d try out this app as a simple alternative to a drafting program. This app I horrible. I can’t adjust lines to correct them, and there’s no place to edit. I’ve tried “adding rooms” and they have a default size and that’s it.. you’re better off with paper and pencil than to try this app.

Great app for design

I really like the RoomSketcher app. I use it all the time uploading blueprints, adding design elements, and finishes. It’s pretty user friendly. The only things I struggle with are varying ceiling heights and a few details like that. I’ve watched and read the tutorials but I still can’t get them to work out. Other than that, it’s been a great tool for me to illustrate projects for clients.

Great but a few improvements needed

1. Adding a blue print is a huge pain. It works but it doesn’t really identify the outlines so its easier but much longer to draw your own. 2. Need more updated items to use. Your library is outdated and minuscule. You should be able to put every aspect in the home but thats not so 3. Mac platform is a pain, and i use all apple products. Needs to be more apple friendly 4.need more choices all around 5. Can make walls at angles Very good app. Seriously is. Just needs updated and to allow for more ability to make custom designs. The library of choices should really be brought into 2022

Very Disappointed

The free version is very limited and does not Allow making the changes I need to make without paying $99 for the Pro version. Expected more.

Not quite there

This is a temporary review. I am giving the app 1 star, to hopefully get the developers to read it. If they reply with something that indicates their understanding of my concerns, I will immediately change my review to 4 stars, and possibly 5 stars if PDF conversion and accessibility issues can be addressed. As you read this, please don’t stop reading after the few negative items that I will list. RoomSketcher is definitely worth a try. It will likely end up being your favorite architectural 3d app for residential design. It’s got a lot going for it. This review is for the iPad app version only. Some of the things that are inconvenient with iPad, are likely needed for use with a mouse. I have used competitor, KeyPlan 3D (KP) app for years, and because of its limitations, I occasionally search the App Store for other 3d drawing platforms. For some reason RoomSketcher (RS) has never shown up in my searches. I found it by accident in an online search for architectural templates. I’m very glad I did. I downloaded the app on my iPad, and have since upgraded to VIP. RS provides a huge library of free furniture, fixtures, and room finishes, while the libraries for KP all cost money, but once purchased, KP Upgrades, including 3D, are permanent. 3D with RS is an annual subscription. Upgraded KP has no restriction on the number of projects that can be saved, while RS only allows 5 projects with the VIP subscription. As projects progress, sometimes I want to change the project title, which is ultra simple with KP. I can’t seem to do it in RS. KP also allows easy conversion to PDF, while RS doesn’t seem to allow it. This is currently my main concern. With PDF, final drawings can be completed. Drawing walls is MUCH simpler with KP, than with RS. With KP, you only need to click where you want to start a wall, pull the line to the end spot, and lift your finger or stylus (iPencil). The wall can then be hidden, (dashed) with a click, or split, to exact center. RS requires you to click on the wall type you want, then find the cursor on your drawing, move it to the starting point, click the wall or location you want to start, find the cursor again, pull it to the end point, click the point or intersecting wall, then go back to wall types again, and click the select button to stop drawing walls. Forgetting to click the select tool will end up with a bunch of line segments that need to be deleted, one at a time. RS is NOT optimized for the iPencil. OK, now t
