Routinist helps you achieve goals and build habits by scheduling time for them as part of your everyday routines.

***WHY***

I built Routinist because I got tired of having excuses for why I wasn’t taking action on my goals: I don’t have time... I’m too tired… I forgot… etc. Routinist eliminates these excuses for me.

Becoming a better you is hard. It requires motivation, planning, commitment and execution. Only you can keep yourself motivated and committed over the long term. The purpose of Routinist is to help with the planning and execution parts, so you can improve your health, achieve your goals, and continue becoming a better you.

***HOW***

Step 1: List your typical morning routine actions and estimate time for each action. This can be super simple (get ready for day for 45 mins), or as detailed as you like (floss 1m, brush 3m , shower 10m, shave 5m, etc.).

Step 2: Enter your desired sleep and Go Time (the time you need to leave for work).

Step 3: Add new actions (those small steps towards your goals like flossing or exercising) and their estimated time, and insert them into your routine.

Routinist uses this info to remind you when to wake up and go to bed so you have time for your routines and get the sleep you need. Take action during the time you most control: your mornings and evenings. Routinist removes the ‘when’ so you can focus on the ‘what’.

I used this app when I was finishing university and then for a period of time thought it was gone! I’m so happy it’s back. I have severe ADHD and since I can’t take stimulant medication (due to its mixing with other mental “disorders”) this app helps me stay on track with the self help routines I need to function. It would take me a week or mental overwhelm to journal, meditate, do yoga, meal prep, and exercise. Now I can do all those things before I start my day. As someone with disability and a health care professional and app developer myself I love it. Premium is beyond worth it. The feeling of health without medication is a godsend

PLEASE make an Apple Watch version!!!

I have been using this app for 5 years, and it is an absolute life-saver for my ADHD. I haven’t been able to find anything else like this app, and I’ve looked very hard. The only thing is that it can be awkward to carry around my phone as I’m doing my routines. Please make an Apple Watch version!! I would pay a lot of money for an improved Apple Watch version of this app.

Very useful for staying on time without rigidity

I love this app. It’s far better than having your routine items somewhere more rigid. Using it, you can go a little long on some activities and then compensate by cutting short other activities without having to recalibrate everything. My highest wish for the app would be for it to sync across devices so my iPad and iPhone would be in sync. (I’d probably also use it on the Mac, since I have an M1, which can run iOS apps.)

Would be nice if it didn’t close the app for every change I make in the settings. I thought the idea was nice and started setting stuff but that bug completely turned me off.

Clunky but absolutely life saving

I work in UX so I definitely think the UX and intuitiveness needs work. Nevertheless, it’s a powerful app that resonates with people’s foundational motives to follow a routine. It has really helped me be mindful of where my time is going! Good job with developing this!

I absolutely love this app. Almost no routine app would work for me and I’m so glad I found this one. I would give 10 stars if I could. The only thing I wish I could change is the colours. If there was an option in settings that allows me to change the colours of the background or certain buttons so it can be more vibrant I would love that. Still a great app tho! It helps me be much more productive :)

Timothy is doing great work here, and is responsive to user feedback. This is the only app I've ever found that actually helps me organize (and enjoy doing at the right pace) my morning and evening routines and to know when I need to do them based on when I'm starting work, which can vary a lot in my work as an MD.

I live this app and use it every day to help keep me on track for my morning routine. It essentially daisy chains several timers together in a row and lets you track how often you complete your routine. Highly recommend the premium version 👌

Very nice application, too bad it does not synchronize with the Apple Watch it would really be a best best best 🤩 However, I’m really very sad that it doesn’t exist in French, ... Maybe a news challenges ? Thank you very much from ADHD

Absolutely amazing for ADHD/ADD people!! I have a hard time staying focused and it often times results in lost time and wasted time! I end up missing my bus because I’m overly optimistic about how long it will take me to get ready. This app and its precise calculations confronts my inner procrastinator. Any time I try to procrastinate especially with my routine, I get a reminder which exposes that if I don’t go to sleep by a certain time, I won’t be able to get 7.5 hours of sleep, and I won’t be able to complete my routine!! Yes, directions are a bit long but the développer does warn you that you should read it carefully, and understandably so. Very very well designed app! I’m so so happy that I’ve found this!
