I really enjoyed looking at the art style
There’s actually a couple pieces that look exactly like Endless Online’s and it got me to try it out
The game itself isn’t really what I was looking for at the moment but I’d recommend giving it a try to see if you like it
Unplayable on iPhone 13 pro max.
Everything you touch the screen anywhere the phone keyboard pups up, super annoying and unplayable.
Not built for mobile
The joystick is on the right side of the screen. The chat box blocks your entire view of the map. There’s no readily available attack or skill buttons. Everything you touch brings up the keyboard/typing screen yet again blocking all visibility.
With a proper format actually designed for mobile use this could be potentially be a good game, but as it is it’s literally unplayable on a phone.
The “app” is worse than on mobile browser.
It’s that simple. First of all, the app isn’t even designed to fill the screen. So you have bright, ugly bars on the side of the game. It actually looks pretty terrible for an app.
And more importantly, the game’s UI is so poorly scaled with the game on screen, the menu dropdowns (inventory, player skills, etc) end up filling the entire screen when opened lol it’s so bad. I feel bad for new players who use this instead of their browser and think these things are a normal player experience, and I guess now they are lol. They should just get rid of this app and try to add some mobile browser improvements/mods if they want to cater to mobile players.
Old-school, chill sandbox RPG
RPG MO is a chill sandbox. There is no lore or story presented, rather you are free to play how you wish. You could be focused on combat or crafting; you could gather materials and build your stash of coins; or you could do it all!
The game plays slower than the high action games of today, but it attracts a calm, mature community that is extremely helpful and very friendly!
There are quests to slay mobs (monsters) to start your journey with melee, magic, and/or archery (6 individual combat skills to level).
Players that enjoy gathering and crafting have access to 13 different non-combat skills to level.
Good:
- a lot to do in-game and endless fun to be had
- amazing community
- small, personable dev team
- no pay-to-win (P2W) aspect; “premium” offers some small quality of life feature and can be purchased with coins
- new updates continuously in development
- seasonal events and player-hosted events
Cautions:
- if you do not like open-ended sandbox games, this is j it for you
- players that need instant gratification may prefer other, high action games
Very cheap RuneScape reproduction
The game has some good ideas.
The problem is they basically copied a lot of stuff from RuneScape. Such as fishing like lobsters, swordfish, manta rays, etc. also the same with woodcutting and a lot of the other skills.
To me it seems like a very poor copy and pasted version of RuneScape classic and the graphics look like they were made in 1990 (even worse than rsc which is super old now). By now surely the developers could have overhauled the graphics.
I played the game for 10 hours or so to come to the conclusion that I would be better off playing old school RuneScape. Like I said, copy. paste. But with much much worse graphics and literally no animation (not even a running animation).
I played thousands of hours of old school RuneScape from 2008-2019 and in my honest opinion RuneScape is 10x the game that this is.
But if you want to play an 8 bit version of RuneScape then you will probably enjoy the game.
Chat box problems (SOLVED!)
Update: I was able to fix the issue I experienced. In case anyone else has a similar issue, make sure to hit “return” on your keyboard to make it go away. I’m back to fully enjoying the game, also a shoutout to the Devs (Margus Ojanurme) for promptly reaching out to me in order to help figure this out, great service!
I really want to enjoy this game, but every time I tap anywhere in the game the chat box opens the keyboard. A few times I’ve gotten it to go away, but most of the time I can’t. It makes the game unplayable as I the keyboard takes up almost the entire screen.
Interface
I think the interface is a bit dumb. When I tap on something in the inventory, I expect it to display information about the item rather than equip/use it! To me this is unplayable, as I have clumsy fingers and tend to misclick often.
Very good and addicting game
Played this game religiously back when I was in middle and high school, glad to finally have it on iOS! Very addicting and a very good and fun player base in multiple languages. Some of the playerbase can be abrasive but you can warm up to them by just being yourself.
No way??!
So glad to see this officially available for iOS devices! This game is amazing, I am a 9 year+ player. RPG MO has so many skills, many unique implementations, along with having that “2D” style graphics I love. Highly recommended, 5/5 stars. Efreet [Rare] FTW. Great work team. 🤝🔥🙇♂️😊
