Device requirements
The RS-MS1I operating requirements are as follows:
iOS12 or later

Usable transceivers (As of Mar 2022)
- ID-4100A/E + Bluetooth unit (UT-137)
- ID-52 *1
- IC-705 *2

*1 Supported in RS-MS1I Ver.1.1.0 or later.
*2 Supported in RS-MS1I Ver.1.2.0 or later.

Preparation
To use the RS-MS1I with a supported transceiver, you need an optional Bluetooth unit. See your transceiver’s instruction manual for details.

Transceiver’s settings
Set the following functions as shown below to use the RS-MS1I.
[Function] > [CI-V] > [CI-V Transceive]: ON
[Bluetooth Set] > [Data Device Set] > [Serial Port Function]: CI-V (Echo back OFF)

Note:
- The RS-MS1I may not work with all iPhones or iPads, even if they are one of the tested devices. This is because an application program on your device may conflict with the RS-MS1I.
- The RS-MS1I may not be used, depending on the OS version, installed application, and so on.
- Bluetooth LE is used for the connection with the transceiver, so there may be a time delay between the transceiver’s operation and the display on the iPhone or iPad.
- When sending or receiving pictures using “FAST mode,” the headset audio will be temporarily interrupted because of the transceiver’s Bluetooth unit limitations.
- You may need to connect to the Internet through a Wireless LAN, a 3G network or an LTE network for some functions.
- The RS-MS1I supports only portrait orientation with the iPhone. It does not support Auto Rotate. However, landscape orientation and Auto Rotate are supported with the iPad.

Needs better pairing instructions

FieldAgent on

Took me a long time to figure out how to pair the app to my ID-52. It’s very counter-intuitive. The trick is to use the menu setting “pairing reception” on the ID-52 NOT the “pairing / connect” option as you would expect. Once I got the app connected it’s pretty amazing to be able to have stations appear on the map in real-time. I hope Icom will continue to work on the app as it would be interesting to see what else might appear in future.

So pleased to see this available now for Apple. Paired with the ID-52E easily and repeater list updated via Bluetooth.

Developer.. photo import force closes app

SuperDuper1981 on

Hello.. when importing and selecting photo, the app force closes / crashes. Please fix it promptly, we paid ALOT of money for these radios not to have functions flawed iPhone XS Max iOS 15.0.1 Thank you

ICom ID-52 support please!

Documentally on

Having spent a good 45 minutes attempting to pair the radio with my iPhone 11 Pro I have given up. Even though the app looks like it was is someone’s school project I really hoped it would work as integration with my phone is one of the reasons I bought this premium radio. This high quality radio promises so much I do not think that I come can deliver.

Good but not quite there.

@WigglePig on

The memory and control aspects are really good and very useful. However the photo management doesn’t seem to work properly with the app bombing out when trying to add a photo.

Can We Have Serial Support PLEASE

RonHope on

I have an id51 plus 2 and would love to use this app on my iPad to control that. I have an apple camera kit, so a USB A connection IS available.
