Description

A Real Time Analyzer for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Test your speakers, tune your room, do acoustical analysis work or just have a better understanding of audio frequencies. RTA is a professional-grade acoustical analysis tool. All filters meet or exceed ANSI and IEC Class 1 specifications.
Includes Octave and 1/3 Octave modes, with selectable decay times, as well as Peak Hold and true linear Average mode.
*** iOS Microphones
We have analyzied every iOS device, including all of the iPads, all iPhones, and iPod touches, and have created microphone compensation files that are applied automatically. You can trust the results you are getting, often within just a few dB of a far more expensive analyzer. Calibration is updated regularly, automatically, from our cloud-based calibration database.
Upgrade to our iTestMic or iAudioInterface2 to bring your system up to full professional specs.
*** Save and Recall Graphs
You can save and recall graphs, marked with the GPS location, date & time, and your comment, as well as store the image to your photo roll.
Export the data as an XLS formatted file to your computer for inclusion in reports or further analysis.
*** Max and Min Bars
You can also turn on resettable Max/Min bars (see image #4) to capture peaks. Double-tap to reset the bars.
*** Specifications and Devices
The internal iPhone mic has a noise floor near 30 dB, and if your are running iOS 6, clips around 120 dB.
*** Touch GUI
Fully interactive touch GUI features includes scroll up/down, pinch to zoom or compress the vertical dB scale, or swipe horizontally to get a cursor that reads out the exact dB level and frequency across the screen. To make the cursor disappear, swipe it off the graph to the left.
The landscape-mode display flips 180 degrees so that you can face the internal mic in either direction.
*** Overlay Curves
Also included are optional noise curve overlays, in NCB, RC, PNC, NC, X-Curve and NR mode. See picture #2 for an example. Use this feature to get a quick reading on the noise levels in a room. Also includes the cinema large-room X-curve overlay.
*** Calibration
RTA can be fully calibrated, whether you are using it with the internal iOS microphone, or one of our professional test & measurement mic solutions. And, if you are using iTestMic, the mic calibration is transmitted directly to the app, so you are always calibrated.
*** RTA or FFT?

Great tool

A great app for the price. Very good comparison when using the inbuilt iPhone microphone to a dedicated RTA mic. Easy to read screen and easy user functions.

Issue with IOS 13.0

Blaise.H on

United Kingdom

I’ve happily been using this app in the past. But have just updated my iPhone’s software to IOS 13.0 and now I can only see the right half of the app’s screen making it functionally pretty useless. (Even though details on the app states it was updated a month ago to work with IOS 13)

Works great to say I’ve bought it twice??

The app is excellent and has by far bailed me out of so many situations. What I don’t get is why I’ve had to download the app again. The original RTA+ app stopped working, it crashed every time I opened it. Problems arose last week so I don’t know if there’s been an update or not, but I’m running it off the iPhone 7 and the only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because of this. I would be interested to know the developers response.

Excellent features, let down on iPhone X screen

The features on this app are excellent and work really well. However, the let down is that the app has not been yet adjusted for compatibility with the iPhone X screen and this makes the app hard to use currently.

Great app

I needed a low cost solution to eq the bars and clubs i work for. This program is accurate enough, And easy to use And is even more accurate when used with a calibrated mic for iphone such as a "imm-6" There are plenty of usefull tools built in to this nifty little app. Very happy all together with thr results.

Changed my life

I love this app. Finding feedback in your monitors. Done! Looking for anything that needs averages, great. If you have tried the free demo one. This is loads better. Building pink noise means you don't have to send 10 minutes trying to find it on the desk. There are other apps, but once I had this I stopped looking. Can't recommend enough.

EXCELLENT!

A good application from a company who seem to know what they are doing. Amazing that it actually produces reasonably good results even on an iPhone! Not sure it is worth the extra money over the already excellent application provided by RTA Lite which provides all the essential functionality for free.

Brilliant Tool

I am truly astounded. As a new convert to the iphone, I am truly amazed at its capabilities and ease of use, but I was further delighted to discover the Studio Six Digital range of acoustic applications. I am an acoustic consultant by profession and I work with professional instrumentation on a daily basis, but I can honestly say that the Studio Six tools are brilliant. While they are not a substitute for the 'real thing', they have one great advantage - they are always in your pocket!

Must Have !

clw_123 on

This app work fantasticly. Is surprisingly very accurate when using the inbuilt iPhone mic (tried several different tone frequencies, and RTA was consistent throughout frequency range). Perfect for RTAing your mixes/studio or using for quiter applications in Live Sound. However, the limited capabilities of the inbuilt mic to cope with loud sources, limits its use really to studio based work as the iPhone mic doesn't like much above 100 dB.

Confirms the sweet spot in your listening environment.

A quick and easy way test the acoustics of your listening environment. Tried with and without bass traps and the results showed how a few bass traps really do even out the nulls and peaks in the lower frequencies. One fine app.
