Here comes the the crazy twin-sister of Ruismaker, designed for people who want to design their own percussion sounds from scratch.
Ruismaker FM's simple, yet flexible synthesis engine lets you create anything from snaredrums, kickdrums and spacy toms to weird and unconventional percussive sounds and effects.
Ruismaker FM is a unique drumsynth plugin (i.e. it does not use samples), which is coupled with a creative Euclidean sequencer when run in standalone mode.
The plugin is fully AUv3 (Audio Unit) compatible:
- Seamless integration with Garageband and other AU hosts
- Audio Unit Instrument: making music on iOS doesn't get more convenient
- Supports AUv3 Multi-Out in AUM and ApeMatrix
- Each sound is modeled using authentic analog and FM algorithms;
- Comes with dozens of unique customizable models
- Does not use any samples; all sounds are synthesized in realtime, on the fly
- Light on the CPU, so you can run lots of Ruismaker FMs simultaneously
- Fully automatable parameters (requires host support) and MIDI CC controllable
- Has its own preset manager
The standalone sequencer is refreshingly different:
- Program patterns using Euclidean algorithms
- Powerful random feature and mutation probability settings per channel
- Syncs with Ableton Link or MIDI Clock
- Exports WAV and MIDI
- Compatible with Audiobus 3 (including MIDI IN/OUT mode)
- CoreMIDI In and Out
- AU MIDI output for on-screen pads

Ruismaker FM FAQ
Is Ruismaker FM free?
Yes, Ruismaker FM is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Ruismaker FM legit?
✅ The Ruismaker FM app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
While the machine itself sounds great, there are very bad issues with usability. Like all your apps, when you place finger first time on a contron knob, the current value is not shown, which is very bad as one cannot just check the value but has to move the knob ! Also, this movement is picked only after a while so the result is - you are moving the knob and changing the value AND you don’t know its original position. it’s very annoying. The size if controls also has to be adjusted they are just too small. I am telling all of this hoping you can fix it, because its sounds brilliant.
I’m charmed. FM modulation. Sequencer.
So, very interesting synth and the main thing is that Ruismaker FM is simple. Why I chose this one? FM modulation is cool and fun. You will create drums, rhythmic bass and nice fxs. The sequencer is amazing inside Ruismaker FM.
Creative Drums
Drum sounds here are created from synthesis, not samples, great way to create your own custom kits. foF those not used to creating drum sounds from scratch, there are a large number of useful presets to start from.
What really stands out though is the sequencer, which allows you to put a different number of steps on each of 8 tracks worth of drum sounds, so you can have different loop points and get very interesting polyrhythms, which you can make more interesting by adding some mutation variation to the sequences. you can multi out the separate parts in something like AUM, but it still works on good old IAA, and you also have the option of saving any loops as WAV files and exporting to the DAW or sampler of your choice.
Very good for people making techno, minimal, IDM, acid, but not limited to that

Versatile drum synth w/ Euclidean seq
Great bread and butter sounds that can be tweaked into electro percs, zaps, blips, etc...
Euclidean seq is fun, took me a second to get used to it. Shift is your friend when trying to program basic breaks.
Intuitive, fun sequencer and great 80s sound
FM synthesis is not intuitive or straightforward, but Bram has written a great manual ( available on the website) that explains how to use the controls to get interesting sounds out of this app.
The Euclidean sequencer is great- I’ve been using it to make odd-time loops and Radiohead-style polyrhythms, and it is very straightforward to understand and fun to play with
Lean and mean and hungry like the wolf.
This is the most immediately dope feel I’ve received from an app in awhile. 6 identical channels of audio mangling, ripping, flipping, smoking hot modded multiOSC FM ops. The perfect blend of rapid fire easily dialed creativity, on top of depths of sonic versatility, top notch audio fidelity, and breezy CPU simplicity. This bad mother will be your new first choice, all situation crushing app, when you need a modern EDM, industrial, glitch, etc percussion and FX, or when you just want to add a bit of signature secret sauce, causing a song to finally fulfill its epic destiny. Must have, drumming tool, no question.
For my money, this is the clutch Bos creation-even more so than Noir,p-which seems to be the BB app of note in most refined social circles. I’ve had the original Ruismaker for months now, as it was the first paid plug I bought after scoring my new iPad before the quarantine began. I’d been trapped in OG IAA iPhone mode for years: Gadget, Caustic, TriqTraq, etc. So I figured a drum synth would be a straightforward, useful tool for my first foray into AUv3 on iOS. Unfortunately, “drum synth” had me picturing Elastic or Seekbeats: vast depths of rhythmic tweakability...whereas the original RM is more in the vein of an 909. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice sounding little app at a great price! But it’s not gonna trash multiple romantic partnerships by turning you into a distant, knob twisting, pseudo-autistic. But RMFM? Yeah, it’ll wreck some homes if you’re not cautious.
Ignore The 1 Star Reviews
This app, like all the devs work, is a must have if your creating music in an iOS environment. Stable and worth it.
Solid and Useful.
Bram is clearly a musician himself. Every single instrument, effect, or anything this developer touches is iOS gold. This Ruismaker is no exception. Functional, USEFUL, AND more importantly in my opinion, loads of fun because of the ease of use and stability. Thank you Sir Bram for your over the top contributions to our hobbies, crafts, and for some like myself, a working part of my daily life. 10 Stars.
Nicely done! UPDATE
Multi-outs! Yes!
