S1 & S2 Speaker Controller Reviews

Worthless app

Mattastica on

United States

This app is less than worthless, it does not do what it implies, it simply plays music, which you can do with any app. It asks to track your usage across apps, and attempts dishonestly to get you to pay more per month than Apple Music, for something that is likely free. I don’t know where they are getting 5 star reviews from.

Quite possibly one of the worst apps I have experienced

They have aggressive ads that continuously pop up and then want to charge a fee to make them go away! High end expensive speakers that have an app plugged with freemiums?!? Do better Sonos, do better.

Sonos: Monetization was the only reason…

loveoneputts on

This is coming from a Sonos customer approaching 20 years (yes, we even had the brick hand held controllers). The S2 App is focused on generating revenue and trying to move into a subscription model by adding services (like now there’s a usage fee for their horrible app) and link to Apple Store to buy more applications (that they no doubt get a royalty or fee from), MUCH more difficult to find streaming services to launch (Spotify, Pandora etc UNLESS, you have a commercial relationship e.g., Google music Apple Music. SoundCloud) good luck finding the others. I DO NOT WANT TO USE SONOS AS MY UI FOR MY STREAMING SERVICES. Oh yeah, I STILL cannot log into my account as an authorized user…PATRICK, if your listening (highly doubtful) give us back access to Alexa on our speakers, let us choose the services we want - your voice assistant is AWEFUL - and highly inaccurate - at simply hearing- don’t even try to ask the time or weather. Mr Spence, I nominate you for the annual business leaders Marie Antoinette award for arrogant CEOs . @ Julius Genachowski are your peers at #Carlyle embarrassesd for you? OSS this how #Carlyle does business these days? #heldcaptivebysonos

Sonos ap hard to use

Stevebro3 on

United States

I bought the lifetime ap. Already own 7 devices that stopped working when ap was upgraded. Now paid $25.00 for new ap and it still will not let me listen to music. Stuck in endless circles with no progress. Sonos used to be user friendly, at least for last 20 yrs. Now I am stuck with a dead speaker in 7 rooms of my house.

So far so good Instructions are very helpful and clear Best Buy Guy advised that my Spectrum package was best way to go as opposed to Sirius XM which I use mainly for enhanced vehicle radio My appreciation Thomas J Pulliam MD

Way too many ads

_captain_teemo_ on

Too many ads in the app and i cannot for the life of me get both of my speakers to connect. I have already bought the speakers, i shouldn’t be prompted to pay for more services

Improved?

Eilinski on

I want to use my Sonos and it said I didn’t have any speakers connected, none and I’ve been using Sonos for years. I can’t my speakers at all it either wants me to purchase some or I have to list every speaker and register them. Why? Was there an I didn’t know or some glitch. My Sonos is useless and I’m not sure how to fix it.
