Learning interesting things about the San Diego Zoo
Our recent visit to the San Diego zoo was pretty nice. There was a few things that happened that almost made it not pleasant. But one of the supervisors named Lisa came over to explain everything to us made us feel very welcome and wanted to return again. Now we are season passholders so we’ll be able to enjoy the nighttime Zoo coming up. Super excited.. keep up the good work.
Needs step by step directions
The map is only a blue dot that makes it confusing for directions. It would be better if there were step by step directions.
What a Zoo!
Best Zoo in the country! Best weather, America’s finest city, best wildlife conservation!
Cell service is patchy
App would be great if it would fully load. Many times we tried to look something up while at the zoo it would fail to completely load. Worked great from home, but will probably grab a paper map the next time we visit.
Help! Can’t add new membership!
After purchasing a different annual membership this year for two members of my family, every time I try to load the new membership into the wallet of the app, it keeps coming up as the previously expired membership. I’ve tried it about 20 times and even deleted and reinstalled the app, but it still shows up in my wallet grayed out as expired.
App good but directions stink
App is decent but the planner and map feature isn’t the best. Would be great if the “plan your visit” has an option to optimize for distance eg if I said I wanted to see the gorillas, eagles, hippos and red pandas, then it remapped them in the best walking path instead of just back and forth across the park in the order I listed them. Also, the GPS and cel service in the zoo stinks, making the App’s nav feature really buggy. With a few small (and really inexpensive!) 5g boosters, maps and directions would be a lot better.
Zoo Visit 1-16-24
Excellent visit. I appreciated the availability of volunteers and staff who were so knowledgeable and personable at a wide variety of exhibits.
The improvements being made will make the zoo even better in the future- thank you
Amazing app
Auto updates to show the nearest animals. Every zoo should learn from them..
Wasted Potential
The app looks nice but falls flat on its face with the lack of fundamental functionality. The map should be an interactive centerpiece, but it’s more like an afterthought! Why people are rating the zoo instead of the zoo’s crummy app, I don’t know. The zoo is 5 stars; the app is 2. Don’t get it twisted.
SD Zoo Amazing
I’ve lived in San Diego for 53 years. And I’ve gone to the zoo. I can’t tell you how many times but every time I go I see something new and interesting.
