Description
O projeto Caminhos Jacobeus do Oeste Peninsular, apoiado pelo INTERREG V A España Portugal (POCTEP), tem como objetivo identificar e promover os itinerários jacobeus transfronteiriços num território que integra o Alentejo, o Centro de Portugal, o Município de Barcelos e as “Diputaciones” Espanholas de Badajoz (a qual lidera o projeto), Cáceres, Cádiz, Sevilha, Córdoba, Zamora, Pontevedra, Ourense, Huelva, bem como a Junta da Extremadura.
Sendo de responsabilidade do Turismo do Alentejo efetuar a ligação transfronteiriça de cerca de 70 km de extensão do Caminho de Santiago Português Nascente e o Caminho Português da Raia entre Elvas, Borba, Vila Viçosa, Estremoz com Badajoz e a Via de la Plata, visa a sinalização, dinamização e valorização do património histórico, paisagístico e cultural deste território no sentido de promover esta variante e melhorar a experiência do viajante.
