Santorini Board Game Reviews
Beware some features aren't as expected
it's build with an option to play online against others but apparently most people play on BGA so you'll have a long wait for an opponent! Tutorials have to be found outside the app on youtube. If you like watching a rotating egg timer then you're in luck!!!

I love the original game but have not ever been able to get into a game so it’s been a waste of money
Stunning!
I am ashamed to admit I am generally lazy when it comes to reviews and rarely take the time to write them, even when I’ve had a good time with an app.
In the case of Santorini I felt compelled to do a review. This is because of a simple reason: the attention to detail on display here is just mindblowing.
From just the pure visuals which are not only faithful to an already beautiful physical board game, but bring it to life in the most well executed way, to the fact that each god power seems to come with its own animations for the workers and effects for special powers (🤯), to the lovely music, which, get this, when a winning move is within reach, crescendos to a more triumphant loop. I mean... it’s just crazy! This is an approach usually reserved for AAA games, no doubt the game would be perfectly playable without this level of polish, but personally I have to just take a bow when I see this uncompromising passion put into a product. The fact that in this case it’s not a console holiday season blockbuster, but a digital conversion of a somewhat niche (albeit awesome) board game, is both slightly amusing, but mainly extremely commendable.
Hats off to you devs, thank you for the love you’ve put into this conversion and I hope this review does its bit to help your game achieve the reach it deserves.
Brilliant
Can’t sing praise enough for this game. Easy to understand, with tons of solo play content to get through. I’ve barely scratched the surface with multiplayer.
One feature that is missing is iCloud sync. I can’t play with the same file synced between my iPhone and iPad.
An outstanding conversion
I've been a huge fan of the physical board game, but this conversion is a really great step up. The campaign and multiplayer are fantastic and have kept me entertained for hours at a time. The play with friends option could use some work as the 'code'mechanic feels clunky, but this is a minor point in an otherwise stellar release!
Missing play with friends
Great game, really love it. Apart from the long queues for ranked (what can you do, hope it gets more popular), the only missing thing is play with friends (from Game Center) without a turn timer (Carcassonne has it implemented really well, for example). The private game function is not the same.
Can’t get tutorials to run
I cannot learn this game because the tutorials don’t run. It gets stuck on the load screen and won’t do anything after that no matter how long I let it load.
Wonderful Implementation!
This app is a near-flawless implementation of the fantastic board game on which it is based. It is beautiful and elegant. I have played the app off and on for years, and I still find new things to learn. Santorini is a much deeper and more nuanced game than many given it credit for.
Minus 1/2 star because I have occasional crashes, which are frustrating.
Minus 1/2 star because there is no random player order. I hate resetting a match just to change start order. Please add a random first player option!
Amazing!
An excellent digital implementation for my favorite game. The amount of detail surprises me (especially for a board game app). I don’t play online, but it’s a great way to pick gods (and regulate matchups as it doesn’t select banned matchups) or pass the time against the AI when I’m not playing the actual game with friends. There is so much to explore and so many ways to play this really simple yet insanely deep game 10/10 give it a try!
Almost perfect
The app has a beautiful interface. The game is simply fantastic. however, the app crashes every once in a while, when I’m playing an opponent—one of my friends—online. If that could be fixed, and if they added a save mode, so you could play the same match throughout the day, rather than having to finish the game right away when you start (if you leave the app for longer than 20 seconds or so, it kicks you out and ends the match), this app would be perfect!
