review after 3+ yrs of usage
To begin with, I am using the app for roadtrips with a car, I dont even know how to ride a motorcycle. In the world of free Google or Waze, it is rare to find a reason for a 3rd party non-free navigation app. My reasons were mostly but not limited to these: 1. having the offline option, i.e download maps 2. options to customize the trip 3. non-priprietary import/export 3. keeping track of my past trips Most of these are to some extent available also in other apps, but were too limited for my taste. List of advantages: - the trip (or route they call it) planner is in my opinion a masterpiece with lots of options yet easy to use even on first use thanks to on-screen hints - variety of import/export options, but most importantly supports all common standards so its unlikely you cannot import your POIs (e.g. from google), routes or even export past tracked trips - track of past trips - this was really a nice surprice. It has everything - the particular trips which you are able to organize in folders, optionally turn on to see during actual navigation or planning (so you dont explore the same road or know how close you were to the destination before aborting a mission in hard off road conditions), elevations, speeds, summary per year, months, etc,… - map coverage with such detail it even covers hiking trails (it wont navigate you there unless you change the vehicle to pedestrian). This is especially useful for users seeking offroad adventures (like me). - support. I would like to emphasize this part. The lead developer Guido responds to your questions via forums or email in most cases within 24hrs. Also listens to suggestions and to the feasible extent also implements some of them or fixes bugs as they appear. Something rare to witness in current modern fast paced age. I could go into more tiny details which document that the software was made with love, but who would read that much of text …in this fast paced age :) Summary: I am most happy with my purchase 3 years ago
