Description

Scuba Calendar helps you plan your scuba diving vacation based on the time of year, and the marine wildlife you'd like to see.
It also inspires conservation, by informing us about the wonders of the marine world and how we, as divers, can help protect the sea and engage in citizen science.
Currently, you can search for more than 30 animals, in over 400 locations, across 70 countries.
The information about sighting areas and wildlife is focusing only on the peak period for each scuba diving location. Though it is impossible to predict sightings with complete accuracy, our aim is to maximize your chances.
We are constantly enlarging and fine-tuning the database.
Key Features:
SEARCH
Select an animal you wish to see. You can also add a month and/or region. The app then determines the geographic locations where the chosen marine life can most likely be spotted.
COUNTRY PAGE
Once you select a desired country, the Country Page shows the types and locations of other marine life likely to be spotted in that country. The page also includes valuable information like local diving regulations, environmental sustainability recommendations, a list of hyperbaric chambers and more.
MY MAP
Keep track of your marine wildlife experiences on your own personal map. Add your sightings by selecting an animal, time of year and country. Take the opportunity to report on the environmental situation at the dive site (e.g. marine debris, corals in distress, etc.).
DIVERS CONNECTED
Divers Connected serves as a social platform for divers all around the world to share their experiences publicly. Check what other divers are logging and participate in building a database of sightings, which could help marine scientists in their research.

Written in a fun and easy to understand way, this section will increase your knowledge about marine animals.
MARINE CONSERVATION
Scuba Calendar helps to increase awareness about critical threats to oceans and their precious inhabitants. We hope it will inspire many of you to get involved in marine conservation!
For scuba divers:
• Find where and when to find your favorite animal
• Browse applicable regulations and practical information about your selected country
• Log your sightings on a map
• Report environmental issues at dive sites
• Check what other divers are reporting from around the world, or filter by country, wildlife or time of year
• Help in creating a massive database of sightings
• Improve your animal knowledge in a fun way
For scientists:
• Take advantage of the database of sightings created by recreational divers for your research and conservation efforts (to determine migratory routes, population sizes, reproductive ecology, etc.)
• Use uploaded photos of animals to identify exact individuals in your databases
• Follow reports of the environmental status of a dive site to track changes in sea conditions and the consequences for marine life
• Encourage citizen science by sharing specific information about animals and guiding scuba divers to correctly identify the species they have seen
For scuba travel agencies:
• Instantly offer clients suggestions on when and where to go
• Get access to trustworthy data about animal sightings to plan the perfect itinerary
• Keep clients up to date with actual sightings in an area
• Become a leader in sustainable tourism by following and recommending tips for sustainable diving

Amazing app!

Very intuitive app and a wonderful design. Fun to use and very informative. The data about sightings checks out and they selected only the places and times where it is almost 100% sure to see the animal. The best thing is that they constantly update the info and make it richer and richer. It is a keeper.
