SEAiq Reviews

Good for S-63 charts

gregluck on

Australia

This app is one of the very few that supports official hydrographic charts (S-63). The setup process is the simplest I have seen. I have logged a bug about it and the team was responsive. I would personally like to see it become a bit easier and more fully to use like Navionics although I do understand it is targeted at marine pilots and their needs.

Not user friendly

Instructions for chart installation and initial setup are not very helpful. So much time wasted trying to work out simple things that should be easy or at least have simple easy to follow instructions

Great navigation program

Irishskipper on

This is a great navigation program for displaying official ENCs and the backup assistance is great, I had an issue with getting to display the ENC correctly when I changed over to another device, I sent an email describing the issue and included a screenshot and the tech guys email me within an hour and provided a solution, very happy

Please Add MBTILES Support

Works well on iPad, but it’s sadly lacking MBTILES support.

Thanks you

Dropped CM93 support.

Can not believe you have turned a great and useful App. Into a worthless App with the dropping of CM93 support.. Shame on you. I would rate it negative if it was possible. I have a full paid version do I get my money back?....

The best by far

At last an app designed by a mariner who actually knows how to navigate and how to program. I've tried them all and SeaIQ is miles ahead of the fleet.

Great navigation app!

We're sailing around the world on our yacht (3yrs and 3/4 of the way), I've tried all the major apps and this is most comprehensive I've used. I love it! Being able to use a wide range of different charts that I already have is great. The ability to download google satellite charts for free to use offline is great for remote areas where charts are less accurate is very handy. Exporting routes to our weather routing software is very easy for this app too. With 2 weeks use and lots of playing, I like it : )

Great App

This is a great app with a solid feature set. The support for S63 charts is great - even if you have to use a couple of steps to load them initially. I like the responsiveness of the developer and I expect it will just get better and better. The AIS functionality is excellent and particularly the actual size feature. My key want is for the app to be able to broadcast the waypoint it is sailing to and things like DTG XTE BTW so that they can be consumed by NMEA repeaters, autopilot etc.

Very good app. Allows me to use my cm93 charts so don't have to pay for yet another set of charts. AIS function works great although icons for vessels are a bit basic. The only grumble I have is the rendering speed-it can be a bit slow at times, but that's probably because the charts are zipped and might be decompressed on the fly. Also, the full cm93 set is huge, its a pity the app doesn't allow selection of discreet areas of the charts. I highly recommend this app if you have the cm 93 set. The AIS repeater from my laptop is a real bonus.
