Scaaaaam !!
I’ve been using 2Number for a few years now and I’m very satisfied with it. When a call or a text comes in on the second number, there is a clear pop-up so you know that it’s coming in on the 2nd number, and the record of calls and texts are all kept in the app, separate from calls and texts on the SIM card in the phone. The fact that you can choose not only the country (out of a list of about a dozen countries) but also the specific number out of a list of numbers is great, especially if you can find a number that is easy to remember However, at the beginning, starting up the subscription was very frustrating. I chose a US number with which I was happy. I was then offered a free NL number so I thought, why not? But then it became complicated. The US number I originally chose got cancelled and I was stuck with the NL number that I did not want in the first place. I was also suddenly paying for two subscriptions! In the end I lost the US number I had (fortunately I was able to find another US number I liked even better). They cancelled the unwanted NL number but the new US number was on the new subscription, so I had to pay for both subscriptions for year and remind them at the end of the year to cancel the extra subscription but keep the US number. It ultimately all worked out and they gave me a generous amount of extra credits for the extra subscription and the inconvenience. The number of credits needed to make or receive calls and to send or receive texts depends on the country of your 2nd number and the other number; it does not matter what country you actually are in. The more credits you buy at one time the cheaper they are, but it basically costs around two cents per credit. An outgoing or incoming call or text from a US 2nd number to or from another US number costs two credits = $0.04 per minute/text, which I think is perfectly reasonable. Calls/texts to/from different countries vary greatly, so for people who need a separate number for international business purposes it could be pricey, but for people who are using it just for convenience or travel it is generally fairly reasonable. The subscription also costs around $30 a year, but you keep your 2nd number as long as you maintain your subscription, so in the end it is much more convenient and inexpensive than getting a second number with a SIM (only) subscription from a provider in another country. In the end it’s a great service that works well for a second number in the available countries
This is a pure scam!! Be aware of it.
