No more online distractions!

Description

The ultimate idea is we choose to forget our password for a while and block ourselves from our own accounts on social networks, online games and other online distractions / addictions.
HOW :
• Firstly, the app generates a randomly ordered 15-character password, such as yJQV4RgcUexF82, it is not easily remembered, right?
• Secondly, you have to CHANGE the password by yourself, replace the current one with that password. To do this, go to your Account Settings page on Facebook or other services like Twitter, Tumblr, PUBG, League Of Legends, ...
• Thirdly, set the TIMER, tell the app when to show you the password again. It should be the time you finish your study, your work
• Lastly, LOG OUT, and that's it! Now you are temporarily disconnected from your social networks and have no way to get back in. Let's focus on your work, enjoy real life and use your energy on things that matter
NOTICE:
• You should not write the password out, so this method is useless
• You should not let the browser remember your password, so ONE password can be used over and over again
• Don't worry when the app is accidentally DELETED, get it again from the App Store and everything will be restored!
• The password is presented on two lines, so you can choose your own geometric pattern to re-order the characters to create a DIFFERENT password
• There are options to PROTECT your passwords from other users on your devices, from Touch ID to a 4-digit passcode
WHY :
• I believe that people have their right to control themselves from the attraction of technologies. There are more and more people get sick of Internet addiction but hardly do anything to escape it
• Social media is an integral part of our lives, it helps overcoming geographic distances and sharing knowledge around the world. But some companies have been exploiting its entertaining features for their own profit, they commercialize our lives, enjoy to see us wasting our time, so I'm here to help.
• Lastly, although we can easily connect with anyone around the world, we face difficulties while talking face-to-face with the important ones. Let's think about it, let's disconnect to stay connected in real life with real relationships

Auto Control Self Reviews

Great idea!

Ok, so all of the reviews I’ve read seem to suggest that people don’t understand how this app is supposed to work. It doesn’t do anything FOR you, per se. It generates a password that you won’t likely remember. You take that password to whatever account you’re on and change it, then log out. Go back to the app and hit the “done” button so that the app will lock your password. It will ask you what time you want your password revealed. Select that and you’re good! You are now logged out of Facebook, Instagram or whatever and you can’t reveal your password until the time that you have chosen. There’s no way to override it. The next time you want to lock your account again, just generate a new password and repeat the steps. I think it’s genius!

Pathetic

Please don’t waste your $.99. This app is if no use.

Go to the Settings app, change system time, all it takes to bypass this app.

Useless

Why can't I copy the password

You should be able to copy and paste. I thought it would work for all of my social media apps and it doesn't.

Great When You Figure it Out

When I first downloaded the app I was annoyed and almost deleted it immediately. I was looking for something to just lock me out of Facebook. This app does not do that. What it does is generate a password that is complicated enough you would have to memorize it. You log into Facebook (or whatever site you feel you would like to restrict your access hours) and change your password to the one provided by Self-Control. Then, within the settings of the app, you specify what hours and days of the week you can get the password. If you try and unlock the password during other times it tells you you have to wait. This has removed the temptation to even try and get on Facebook during the day for me. Works perfectly. Would work for any site that requires a password to log in.

Great in theory

I love the idea but there's no way for you to copy the password. So you either have to write it down or take a picture of it in order to put your new password in. And then you have to destroy what you wrote or erase the picture so you won't just use the new password. Defeats the purpose.

Not good

Don't buy it. Doesn't work. Very user unfriendly.

Bad app.

It only locks Facebook and for it to do that you have to change you password to what they give you! Not even worth buying.

Pretty!
