I have been a (very) casual meditator for several years, so I wouldn’t say Im particularly experienced with mindfulness, but Im not a newbie. I am also generally very anti pretty much anything for my health, and while I am a naturally fit and mentally well person, I recently did start therapy which has been helpful. With that context, I could not recommend this device and the app more highly. I dont want to oversell it - it’s not the kind of thing where you will instantly notice changes. But as someone who struggles tremendously with focus, being still and calm, and can often get overwhelmed (I do overwork myself, I work in finance and work about 80 hours a week on average in my mid 30s), and I would say this device has helped me become more in touch and aware of my mental state and its relation to my physical senses, and over the last year that Ive used it, helped me master control of my states of minds and emotions in.a way nothing else has. I use it nearly everyday, and at times it doesn’t always connect properly, and I find some days I struggle and other days its a breeze to run through the sessions, but for such an expensive device (and i live a relatively spartan life, haven’t updated my iPhone in 7 years, and dont generally buy new gadgets or care about that stuff), I find it to be worth every penny. However, if youre someone who doesn’t have the time, interest, or patience to spend at least a half hour 5 days a week on this, it may not be worth the expense and effort. I have not used any other similar devices on the market and have little to compare to, but there’s a lot of positive data on neurofeedback training out there in peer reviewed studies. Im not a huberman guy, although of course familiar with him, but I imagine if I had to guess he’d have positive things to say about it too.
was really excited to test out the product but as soon as I went to log into the app and use it, it doesn’t allow me to do so and just keeps telling me to try again later. once this is resolved, happy to come back and submit a much better review of the app after I get to experience it and use it for the first time.
Works really well, being into meditation for some many years having real time feedback has helped to strengthen attention and focus. Thank you for this product!
The device is awesome! It would be a 4.5 to 4.7 review for me at this point. It does what it says it's going to do. It's is a bit bulky(realistically, I'm not sure it could be discrete with the cutting edge technology that is being used) and pricey. A few more instructions and shorter time frames with use would be fantastic, and more connection with customers upon purchase, such as when they reached out to me but didn't say anything else when I replied. Great initiation, but keep the customer connection. Beyond that, I can’t say any device I’ve used compares on the market I’ve tried in the last 10-15 years. Intense Focus is a very powerful program that does work.
Unless you have access to premium therapies, doctors, pharmaceuticals, etc, I would not expect anything at all from this device. Extremely expensive and utterly without merit as a standalone treatment. Save your time and money
