Setlyst Reviews

Could be better , easily

If my band only played 1 set a night, this would be great. But we do 3. Every new setlist has all the songs on the master list, so whats the point?? I want to create multiple setlists from 1 masterlist and know what songs are not used on previous setlists i created.

Very good so far

I’m trying to learn how to sync between iPhone and iPad. Haven’t tried sharing with band mates yet. The input of songs is very good except when using voice it defaults to sentence case in the Title field. Title case would look cleaner.

Was good for a while

The screen is great when in use in full screen mode, and it’s pretty easy to manage the order of songs, but the difficulty of sharing music between devices in bandmates is very far behind what they should be able to do. I sent an email of a new set list that I just made to my band and no one has gotten it. Sometimes it takes about 15 minutes for the email to actually send! Even more common than that now, if you email the set list, it’ll send the email titled “attached is your set list”. And no attachment whatsoever. So dumb. If this was updated to include real time sharing, colors, and maybe annotations, that would be enough to keep me using the app. As of now I’m switching to something more modern. And to really drive the nail in the coffin- their version “app support” is a link to their twitter page. I don’t use have Twitter!

Try Something Else

Seems like it would be perfect for just entering and tracking songs without having to upload song sheets but has one fatal flaw. The app crashes frequently when trying to add a song to your list, creating a level of frustration I have no desire to continue to subject myself to. It also doesn’t utilize the auto rotate, so it’s always oriented in portrait mode.

Really cool features, needs some updates

Please fix the key signatures to allow for minor in flat keys. I’d rather it just be a simple list of all twelve keys, and an additional toggle for major/minor. Other than that, I think this is a great app. I love what it does, and hope that it gets a few updates and catches on.

10/10 would recommend

This app runs better than our government and is more organized than our postal service. If The Beatles were all still alive I’m certain they would be using it. It’s free which is nice but you can bet your sweet cheeks I’d pay 99 cents if I had to. If it came down to deleting pictures of my family to make room for this app, Sorry Aunt Terri we’ll always have the memories. If you are a musician and don’t have it on your phone, you might as well start playing with your hands tied behind your back and in the dark because obviously you like playing music to be difficult and old fashion. What are you waiting for? Let the blue circle roll!

Not what I thought.

It's ok

Major PAIN trying to input the song duration and BPM! Really? Make it so you can just type it in and not have to use the slider. When I remove my finger (iPhone 6s) it changes from what I am trying to set it to. Also... make it so I don't have to put an artist in if I don't want to.

Making a set list has never been so easy!

Stores all your songs in one place, lets you label them by key, tempo, artist and time. Lets you make several set lists that are simple to edit and share with band mates. The most important feature that separates this app from all the others is IT GIVES YOU A TOTAL TIME FOR YOUR SET LIST!!! You can plan your set list down to the second to get in all the songs you won't in a specific amount of time. No more missing your last song or finding out you need an extra after your finale. I love it.

Good, but please add...

Nice and simple, easy to use. I think it would be so useful to add the ability to duplicate a Setlist. I find often I would start with a good setlist and make minor edits. Also please include the ability to add "Set 1" " Set 2" etc. and page breaks.
