The developers have responded to these criticisms by stating that they have their whole team working on this project and want to deliver a quality product. As someone in app development, that sounds like a huge waste of resources, as this app is far from complex. The truth of it is, if you can’t provide this product for less than $8.99/month, you should probably shut this project down. People hate subscriptions and they hate this price point. Much better options are on the App Store for much cheaper. This one is a hard pass from me.
