Description

From the makers of the Persona series, Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is the latest entry in the three-decade-long Megami Tensei video game franchise; bringing its dark themes, thrilling battles and mysterious storylines to life, to mobile platforms!
Take on the role of a Devil Downloader, also known as a Dx2.
Dx2s are able to summon and command demons using a special smartphone app.
Led by a mysterious man, you gain access to this special app and become a member of the Liberators, a secret organization that fights to protect the world from an opposing faction of Dx2s.
The enemy is known only as the Acolytes.
Driven by their own ideology, the Acolytes abuse their demon-summoning capabilities to wreak chaos, and are secretly eliminating people with high empathy quotients (EQ) who pose a threat to their goals.

Confusing menus in a strange fanatasy world

A mix of demonic crimefighting storyline with superstition, and building strange collections of combat elements in a mix and match approach. The complexity here will let you play at developing your demihuman army for a long time.

Heavy pvp focused and strong power creep. Exactly fun but be conscious of what’s worth investing into and I strongly recommend joining the discord to stay informed.

After you get to a point in the story it cuts you off completely from getting gems to summon and what you get from other things is a trickle compared to what you have to pay to get enough to do a single summon. Game maker needs to learn from other gatcha games to treat players better,

Still has all the bells and whistles of the OG Megaten games

Having being familiar with the megaten series, this game was a nice little addition to the franchise, and is a good distraction till “Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance” drops. It still has it’s classic themes and tropes of the occult, apocalyptic, philosophical and even minimalistic aspects that makes the series stand out from other JRPGs, and I love that for these games, they’re not afraid to tackle heavy stuff, and the gameplay is pretty solid too, plenty of demons from all SMT games and even collaborations are there in their full 3D glory. Overall SMT Dx2 is a very solid mobile JRPG that I have been playing since its release, 9.6/10.
