this is poorly designed, unintuitive, and filled with bugs
This app is fantastic - powerful, easy to use, intuitive. This team is putting together slick solutions to pain points I (assume many of us!) we run into with the volume of photos on our devices!
Weed out the duplicates, select the best photos, preceeate photo albums based on time & location - this all really sounds good. But when there are gaps in your P0 cases it’s hard to compete with the existing photo sharing giants, where the basic use case works 99.99% of the time. Shine should really focus on reliability of the basic functionality that it offers.
This is what happens, when you fire your only designer two months prior to launch. Deleted.
That works really well for its use case. Would love to see it expand to auto group albums based on not just events, but also other factors like people, activity etc.
It does a great job of organizing!!
This is so cool. Helpful and fun at the same time. Whole family is smiling!
Fast and easy way to share photos!
Shine has a great organization to their app and it’s clear they had a good focus on making a working product. But there’s a few issues. The main problem with this app is it *compresses* your photos. I’m not sharing wedding / formal event / vacation pics with people just so they can get some awful over compressed image. I want them to get the HIGH quality original pics. Also this app strips all the metadata from your photos. So any photos your friends download from this app will be stripped of the time they were taken, the camera they were taken with, the location, basically all kinds of good stuff you can use to organize your photos later. This app makes everything a headache. The developers focused on efficiency and cost savings rather than actually making a good product experience, and that’s kind of sad. I wish they would have a paid version and then they keep all that extra, because I don’t want people to get bad quality pics, I would rather they get no photos at all than ugly photos they can’t do anything with.
Shameful to put this caliber of a product out as a seasoned tech entrepreneur. The use case for this app is rare at best. Why compete with shared albums when they already work so well?
