Not helpful if you are trying to actually learn sign. You only get one view of the sign and no explanations of how to do the sign. Might be ok if you are rusty and just trying to do a little refresh. Explaining how to make the sign is extremely important…I remember my instructor explaining to us how a slight change in the sign can really change the meaning..for example the sign for when someone meets another person. If it is turned some it becomes sex and if in that position the hands are brought together forcefully then it is rape.
I wish they would show finger placements for the signs . My daughter is learning ASL in school and my job was offering this app for free, so, I really can’t complain. There are just some signs that I get confused on even when I put it on turtle pace. Also, why do some of them look not so happy ?
Unfortunately like many others, I am unable to use the app. All that is presented is the front loading screen, “Your ASL data is loading”.
This app teaches nothing useful and teaching you how to say the most stupid and random things. There is no beginner basics or lessons just random phrases and words m. I do not recommend
I love using it whenever. I think of a word that I don’t know in ASL but sadly it’s lacking lot of vocabulary if a word is specific or broad. It is likely not to be on there, but either way, it is a great and simple app to use especially for it being free. :)
Very fun for beginners, a very good resource to familiarize yourself with ASL, I love the fact the you can choose how long or short you study for. Also the sign of the day encourages you to go back into the app!
This all is okay but I wish there was more close-up of hand movement/finger placement. Even on slow mode it is sometimes difficult to see clearly what is being related.
As a late deafened adult who is frustrated by finger spelling this is an easy way to learn signs. Slow but sure & the price is right! The signers are excellent!
Every time I open the app, it freezes, and I never get to see what it has to offer
