great
use it!
This app is so low class. No CVP, no pulmonary artery pressure or Intracranial Pressure! No way to simulate the artifact of CPR! The pitch only lowers to A certain point. When you have a severe profound desaturation to something like 33% we need much more of a pitch decrease. I could not find a way to do automatic interval blood pressure measurements. This app could be made much better, with some upgrades. And then I would be able to use it for the extremely advanced simulation scenarios.
This app is great! It has very similar functions to the high end expensive apps at a fraction of the cost. The only thing that’s missing for me is a CPR filter on the monitor to show what CPR looks like. But the EKGs available and the functions of the defib and pacer make for a very realistic simulation. Hopefully they’ll add this function in an update!
Most options for sim training are quite expensive, this is a great deal! Better yet, it is very easy to connect 2 devices and remotely change the vitals. I’ve tried other options like pulse generators and more expensive paid options but this is the easiest to use. Then rhythms are clear and display realistically, the pacer simulation is great, defibrillator is easy to set up with what change you want after. This makes sim so much more realistic. I am not a unit educator but work in a nursing role where we do a lot of sim training with new employees. I was happy to find an app so inexpensive that I could just buy it and not have to deal with the more complicated systems the hospital has. It has the feel of an app in development, is development proceeding? I’ve found some bugs and have a few suggestions.
Originally wrote this on March 18, 2021. Just like the title says, I am not easily impressed. I tell you what, I am beyond impressed for such a simple app. I strongly believe in the KISS method... keep it simple and don’t overthink it. This app has its con’s, but for the mere price of $9.99 what is there to complain about. It certainly beats paying a few grand for a refurbished cardiac monitor and a few hundred dollars for a rhythm generator, which I’ve done. Background on me... EMT certified since 1997, Texas Licensed Paramedic since 1999 along an EMS education background (Instructor/Evaluator), Advanced Firefighter II and NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I. I own and operate a training site; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and first aid courses. So, I have bought and disposed of plenty of equipment throughout the years, including cardiac monitors. I cried cause most were beyond repair or serviceability. It gets expensive, let alone carrying a whole bunch of equipment in and out training sites when not in my classroom. So, this simple app is a win - win situation. Granted, I will have to get creative for AED/Defibrillator Pads, blood pressure cuff, and other peripherals. I just might build me a fancy box for my tablet to mount it and make it look like a generic cardiac machine (there’s an idea... I called dibs and finders fee, lol). Anyways, I like a lot and probably do some nitpicking later on to help the developer(s) make it better, if he/she will like to hear some ideas. Thanks for reading. ***Update: Been using it quite extensively. Had an issue on March 23, 2021. Had a session going when it suddenly froze and literally shut my iPhone down. My iPad froze at the same time and was rendered useless. I managed to force reboot both and continue on my iPhone.
Premium is way too expensive please please lower the premium so we can pay
I cannot get my patient to stop flatlining
Great app but why does the EtCo2 only go to 15? Can this be fixed?
It is nice to have a simulator demonstrate accurate rhythms. The pulse ox and abp all work together some apps agave their own pulse no mater what so that is very realistic. Even paused for skipped beats Alarms and sounds are realistic. Shocking and pacing as good. It would be nice to demonstrate demand vs fixed mode on pacer. It would be awesome if you had a YouTube tutorial. I cannot get the blood pressure to change. Also why is them ET Co2 set to only go to 15? It is intuitive so I figured most of it out. But it would be nice if there was at least a key to say what did what. It would also be nice if the BP was larger. Just some suggestions for the program writers. Otherwise this will be very useful for us. I am a nurse educator at a hospital in New York.
