It’s really good but I feel like there should be more options.
First, this game is not for everyone. If you are only into the dark, fantasy story, this game is not for you. But if you can ever enjoy a teen book, this is the one you need to have among all COG games. The main character in this story is a sixth-grade kid. So expect the storytelling to be a little pale but adorable. The story is little lack of detection. But what I like the game most is this is a very complete and fun read book. I don’t think this book will let you down. This is easily one of the Top 10 COG games.
With most CoG games falling into the adult realm, SGD is a breath of fresh air. There's a lot of whimsy to it, and despite the modern setting, it delivers a feel of nostalgia due to the 'kid detective' premise and the fact that these are all pretty much free-range latchkey kids. I was happy I could play something LGBTQIA-friendly while it remained clean (these are just kids, after all.) My one complaint is that there's a weird writing bug that probably most people who play will encounter when it comes to a certain dance and secret admirer, but I won't spoil it. Definitely worth the money though - check it.
This game is lots of fun! It reminds me of my childhood a lot. :)
An enjoyable little game with the player's avatar being an adolescent crime solver. Fun, not too taxing of the imagination. Pleasantly avoids the tedious and ham-fisted political metaphors that other Choice of Games releases have, unfortunately, used as a substitute for plot.
By the end of it, I found myself getting emotionally attached to every single character, not wanting to say goodbye to them. It was very well written and it'd be great to see a sequel to this awesome game.
When I first saw this story pop up in my email I knew I had to get it. But when I actually played it I got a lot more than I expected. It felt like I was actually in the game. Also, the ending was very satisfying.
Good game, even though I ended up not getting the bike I wanted.
I love this game; it was a great change from all the other COGs out there that focus on adventure or thriller or romance. It's like Psy High, only 10 times better. The only thing that could make it better is a sequel.
