Description

SkinCheck is a free triage tool to allow anyone to check their lesions for skin cancer*, track their lesions over time, and compare their lesions to an index of different cancerous and non-cancerous lesion types.
* Skin lesion image analysis limited in the U.S. and select regions.
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, two people die every hour from skin-cancer in the U.S. alone. The hope for my app is to bring down this alarming statistic by letting users know if their moles are concerning and recommending them to seek treatment.
Disclaimer: SkinCheck app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The assessments provided are heavily dependent on the quality of the image. If you have any concerns you should see a certified doctor.

Skin-Check Reviews

App doesn’t do anything

ExtremelyUnimpressed on

United States

It lets you take a picture of a lesion and manually compare the picture to pictures of skin issues found on the internet. It does not use AI to evaluate the risk of you lesion.

I love using this for my dad with skin cancer

Skin check is an app that I’ve loved using for 3 years now! Watching it grow into a full company has been amazing because I’ve believed in the vision! Keep up the hard work because me and my father who has skin cancer love to check in weekly to see when he needs to get it removed!

Love the app!

Even though my region is US so I couldn't fully use a diagnosis function I still found the AI detection and follow up options really helpful!

Skin Check is a great detector

My sister has developed several moles that looked concerning to us, before we were able to seek a dermatologist’s opinion. That’s when we heard about Skin Check, and downloaded looking for answers. She had 8 moles at the time that looked concerning and the app flagged several of them. After waiting several weeks for an appointment, the dermatologist confirmed the exact moles that Skin Check had shown were concerning and we were able to get them removed. Would highly recommend using if you are worried about a skin spot that looks odd. It is accurate!

Super easy to use, reliable, and clean interface! Multiple people I know have detected truly dangerous moles with this app. I would gladly pay for this app. Thank you!

Now I know my moles are not cancer :)

It gave people a laugh

I would be 94% concerning to being of no concern at all. I decided to scan my mole from birth and it was over 80% concerning. I tried a freckle and it was concerning. I took a black marker and marked my hand and it was concerning. What gave us a huge laugh was when I took a picture of my coworker face with the app as a joke and it said 94% concerning. I have deleted the app.

Super Accurate

This app has helped me a lot by letting me test moles that have spooked me to ensure they are okay.

Dangerous and unethical

G60mann on

United States

I began using this for some questions able moles and was relieved that they were fine. Then I used it on a cancerous mole of my husband’s that is nothing like mine. It said the same exactly thing as mine. We started playing with it. I have taken photos of my fingernail, inanimate objects, and even my dogs fur and the all come up as the exact same type of lesion. This is dangerous and unethical to make the claim that this is an app to define skin lesions.

Do not use

allstart28 on

It’s 99% sure that my rug does not have skin cancer. It gave multiple different answers for the same area I checked. The only way to be for sure about something is to go to the dermatologist. I do not recommend anyone go off of what this app says.
