Slay the Spire+ Reviews

Great game, lazy port

Regardless of what phone or iPad you have, the FPS seems to be locked to 30. Even a Nintendo Switch can do 60fps for this game. If this is the only way you can play it, do so, but make sure to check fast mode in the settings, otherwise it’s just unplayably slow. Devs - is it too much to ask for an FPS slider for higher end iOS devices?

I love it, but..

I don’t write reviews. But I have to for this one. This game is wonderful. But after putting in quite a few runs I’ve figured out what I don’t like about this game. It’s the battles that from the get go, you’re facing an attack of 30-40 damage. And it keeps being that way round after round. It’s just not possible to block all of that unless your entire hand is defensive cards, and you can’t get through it with more than half your health. Then a couple battles later, you hit another one. You can have what feels like a perfect run going, great cards, great relics and still not be able to make it. If you’ve only done a few runs, you won’t understand yet. I grab every defensive card I can to try and counter this and it still isn’t enough. When you’ve grabbed every defensive card you’ve had an option to get and then your hand comes up with no defense in it and the enemy is about to hit you for 37… and then if there were more ways to regain HP other than only 30% once or twice per act.. but when they can hit you in one turn for more than you can heal at the campfire.. the game went from fantastic, to frustrating, now I’m probably done with it.

Lack of iOS support

Would give 5 stars. But the fact that this version of the game is locked at 30fps when other versions are unlocked is not okay.

Can’t open game

I’ve had to reinstall the game several times because my game simply doesn’t open sometimes. It gets stuck on the red Arcade screen and freezes. Is there a fix for this at all??

Perfect

Anyone that says the game is unbalanced is wrong. There is a lot of RNG and mechanics. Once you understand the mechanics, you can exploit them and almost guarantee a win every run. Then the game turns into how fast can I beat it. Incredible game. I have many hours on PC.

It’s missing things from the real game like the heart fight and checking what the cards would do when upgraded. Other than that it’s just like the original game.

Bad random number, Bad Game

Gene?@? on

Not a good design of game, fixed random number used. Really bad design to let player repeat the game

Great roguelike

Amazing way to pass time. Perfect game to play on the phone

Text is too small

Gary Nye on

Can’t play it as it is too small on iPhone 13 Pro

Not optimized for phone

Abtinf on

Border text and icons cut off by iPhone rounded corners. Tiny text. Finicky touch controls. Just the bare minimum effort to port to iOS as a cash grab.
