Connection issues. Often disconnects and I have to reset the light. Offer does not connect at all to turn on off from phone
The light options and ability to customize are great but you can’t do much without internet and there is no easy way to put the light on a new network. Easy to move your phone to a new network but the light always tries to use its last setting and doesn’t have an easy way on the light or in the app to put the light on a new network. To put the light on a new network you have to reset it. There is no way to change the network it’s connected to without resetting the light.
This app was able to connect to the light and pass the Wi-Fi settings to the light. The light is now on my network. The phone/app is on the same Wi-Fi network. The app WILL NOT connect to the light. Even though it connected to pass the Wi-Fi info. But now it will not connect to the light. Update: the developer contacted me with troubleshooting steps. Apparently they did not read my review. After resetting the device, the app IS able to connect to the wake up light clock and pass the Wi-Fi settings to the device. The device says it is connected to my Wi-Fi. The device Wi-Fi icon shows it is connected to my Wi-Fi. This is when the SleepMapper app says it is not able to connect to the device. The app will NEVER connect to the device and will NEVER be able to control the device. I have repeated this process 20 or 25 times. In fact, I have recently moved. So I now have a completely new broadband provider, router, network, and Wi-Fi. The SleepMapper app continues to allow the device to connect to my Wi-Fi and then immediately says it cannot connect to the device. Please advise how I am to proceed or if I can safely throw this device in the garbage since the developers are unable or incapable of assisting.
Update 3.16 for iOS has completely changed the way alarms are activated and dismissed via the app, which has removed functionality and made the alarm not only harder to use, but impossible to use in scenarios previously available. Currently, the app determines the alarm is going off if the wake-up light portion has turned on at any brightness or interval (previously, app only stated alarm as active when sound was being played). Additionally, the change no longer allows you to set a new alarm when a current alarm is “active”. If you set an alarm for 30 minutes from now (with the light set at 40 minutes wake up time), the app immediately says an alarm is ringing and forces you to dismiss it before setting another alarm. Another consequence of this, is if you have alarms that are close together, with overlapping light activations, dismissing one will dismiss all alarms with “active” light. For example Alarm 1: 7:00am, 40 minute light Alarm 2: 7:15am, 30 minute light Alarm 3: 7:25am, 30 minute light If you dismiss at 7am (which you are forced to do before being able to look at or set additional alarms), it will also dismiss alarms 2 & 3, as they are considered “active” due to the light setting for those alarms. You also can not set alarms less than 5 minutes apart now as this is the minimum interval for the light to become active. The snooze button has also been removed from the app, another loss of functionality. These changes have made the way I have been using the alarm and app impossible, and for no good reason as they’ve removed functionality. It’s unacceptable to make these kind of drastic changes, especially when I can not even think of a reason why most of them would be done in this way. These changes do not add additional functionality or fix any kind of shortfall associated with the app or alarm.
Update: even tried calling the support number the app recommends only to be put on hold a loooong time This is garbage. Update : did the reset and all the other troubleshooting and still does not work. The light it self will say connected to Wifi (2.4Ghz) but the app just keeps with the spinning saying “establishing connection between your wake light and your home network. Hang on this might take a minute” Yeah minutes later it’s still spinning and saying the same message. Upgraded my phone and now cannot get app to connect to device. Reset to factory settings doesn’t work. This is an expensive piece of electronic debris and software junk Don’t. Purchase.
App is yummy in my stummy
Yes. I have tried removing the app, clearing my cache, restarting and then redownloading (I always try these methods first as it is the typical response from IT). In response to your response of my review - I have tried to clear my cache as well as uninstall and reinstall multiple times without success. I can’t get the app open at all. When I try to open the app it stays stuck on Phillips sleep mapper blue page. Can’t even get to the page to attempt to connect (which barely works any way). All of this on my iPhone.

The app doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi. Also, doesn’t understand why it has to pair every time to my wi-if when I launch the app. Tried everything including switching Wi-Fis, force closing the app, my phone. It simply refuses to work.
