Meh - okay for the price
This okay for the price, but not terrific. The photo cards are okay. The action pictures will be useful for pronouns and sentence building. The category photos are okay, but a few items didn’t exactly fit the category IMO (milk is in the food category, stroller & ice skates are in the transportation category). The photo cards are true flashcards - you flip it over to see the written name of the item. The “language activities” are mostly text based (no picture) - you are asked to give a synonym, antonym, plural, category, category, etc. Only some of the language cards give the answer on the flip side. I found it irksome that the homonym cards provided a photo on the flip side that represented only one meaning of the homonym - they should either provide pictures for both meanings, or provide a sentence for each meaning. I liked the wh- cards because they gave a multiple choice option on the flip side that showed the correct answer after you selected your choice. I thought the “Get to know me” cards were decent too - a picture with a social question, like “What do you like to do on the weekend?” While these cards may be useful for an SLP who is tired and can’t think on her feet, it mostly presents questions/tasks that most SLP’s would ask students without the help of an app. Also, I don’t think these cards will be very appealing to kids. However, it’s always nice to have a variety of photo cards, and this app has a decent variety.
