The Ultimate Digital Hall Pass

Published by: SmartPass

Description

Educators and school staff use SmartPass on iOS to easily create and oversee digital hall passes in real-time. The iOS app for iPhone and iPad lets staff users:
- create Now or schedule Future passes for students
- approve or deny pass requests
- access Hall Monitor to know which students are out of class on an active pass and where they are headed—with a photo for quick recognition + engagement!
- launch Kiosk Mode for their room when 1:1 devices aren't available
- access their own ID Card
… all while maintaining the school's account settings for room maximums, pass limits, encounter prevention groups, room restrictions, and more. Administrators, teachers, school resource officers, and front office staff all rely on SmartPass iOS each school day.
Kiosk Mode on iOS is a game changer when 1:1 devices aren't available. Front office staff love using it for tardy kiosks. Or maybe the campus doesn't have 1:1 devices. Maybe the algebra teacher doesn't plan to have students on their chromebook. Or maybe it's just the art teacher, band director, nurse, or counselor that needs a kiosk! You can see how useful this may be…
Students can also use the iOS app—at the school's discretion. iPhone access for hall passes can be disabled for all students by account administrators while still allowing access to ID cards.

This app gives me depression

Ronnie Mckinley on

United States

This app makes life feel harder and I already feel like I have no point in living. Like this app just makes it seem like life belongs less to me. I already dread life in the future because I know I won’t enjoy life and will have no control over it. Now this? It just makes me feel very hopeless.

This app is causing kids in school to lack in assignments and arguments have been breaking out.

This app killed my gamgam

Jamal jaquarius on

One time I clicked start on a pass and my mom called me and said that gamgam was dead. I blame the app for her cancer, liver failure, and dementia. Has nothing to do with the fact that she was an alcoholic, it's all the apps fault! Don't download unless you want gamgam six feet under!🤠😖💋🍭🙋🏿‍♂️

terrible

Really bad site, many students at my school have went number one in there pants. It takes 10 to 20 mins to set up a pass, that’s just what I think 🤷‍♂️

SmartPass? More Like DumbPass: A 10,000-Word Saga of Frustration" Let me start this review with a question: What do you get when you mix a broken clock, a confused octopus, and a high school play about the internet? The answer is SmartPass, a service so bafflingly terrible it feels like a practical joke that went too far. I would honestly rather staple my Wi-Fi router to a jellyfish and hope for the best than use SmartPass ever again. But let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of why SmartPass might just be the worst thing to ever exist in the realm of technological "solutions." The Interface: A Maze of Doom When I first opened SmartPass, I thought I had accidentally been transported to a Geocities page from 1998. Buttons are scattered like confetti at a toddler’s birthday party, menus are hidden in places only Indiana Jones could find, and the color scheme? Oh, don’t get me started on the color scheme. It’s as if someone looked at a box of crayons and said, "Yes, but what if these all hated each other?" Imagine neon green text on a bright yellow background. My eyes are still recovering. Usability: A Test of Human Endurance Trying to use SmartPass feels like playing an escape room designed by a sadistic AI. Want to log in? Good luck! The login page demands a password that must include at least one capital letter, one number, one hieroglyph, and the blood of a unicorn. Once you’re in, the system crashes approximately every 3.7 seconds, presumably because it’s powered by hamsters on a treadmill. On one occasion, I tried to use the “Forgot Password” function. Instead of sending me a reset link, SmartPass emailed me a JPEG of a cat meme from 2008. Was this supposed to be helpful? Am I supposed to feel better? I wasn’t sure. Features: What Features? The marketing materials promised a seamless experience that would revolutionize my daily tasks. What I got was a glorified to-do list app that crashes if you dare to add more than three tasks. The “notifications” feature is particularly exciting because it doesn’t work at all. I’d set reminders for important meetings, and SmartPass would notify me six hours late with a cryptic message that said, “Event cannot be located.” Thanks, SmartPass. Super helpful. Oh, and let’s talk about the “analytics” feature. Apparently, it’s supposed to provide insights into your productivity. Instead, it told me I spent 17 hours last week "thinking about spaghetti." Not entirely inaccurate, but not exactly what I needed. Customer
