I tried another one before this, but it didn’t have the option to add apps that weren’t on the default list like this one does. Process was a bit confusing at first but the developer has a YT video to go over the instructions. I like the additional customization for fonts, spacing, etc. The only thing missing that I’ve seen on similar apps would probably be a corresponding date/time calendar widget to fill up the rest of the screen, but that’s the only ‘nice to have’ I can think of. Other than that, it’s perfect for what I was looking for to reduce my screen time (paired with ScreenZen features).
I really love this app, it’s exactly what I’m looking for, however, I’m not sure if it’s just me but it only seems to work about half of the time. When I click one of the app titles it should, in theory, activate the shortcut and open the app, but it doesn’t. Instead, half the time it opens the smile app and just sort of stays there while I wait for the shortcut to activate, which it doesn’t. It isn’t even like I’m putting the wrong shortcut name in because sometimes it’ll open and sometimes it won’t.
This is the second one of these I’ve used and I like them but after a while they like to throw up a pay wall. No reviews have said anything so far so I hope this stays free. Similar set up to other apps the only struggle I have is the phone app launcher doesn’t work which stinks all the others work fine. I guess I’m showing my age that all I mainly do is make phone calls.
I’ve been searching for a minimal launcher like this one, I’ve been really frustrated by the price tags of others (and some don’t even work!) So far this one works flawlessly, is easy to customize, and is FREE!
Simple clean layout, only problem is I can get a widget big enough to cover the whole phone as shown in the images
This app gets the job done. Though I wish I could have the widget appear without a name under it. Right now it says “smile” right in the middle of my otherwise empty Home Screen.
Very pleased with this app , easy to setup , clean look - thank you.
I LOVE this app and is something I’ve been looking for for a long time to replace a minimal android launcher I used in the past. The layout and structure is simple in form and function, but the instructions in app are a bit unclear. I was able to get it all figured out quickly, and I’m barely tech-literate beyond functional use, although have worked with basic shortcuts before. Just takes a bit of problem solving and close reading to make sure you’ve properly got each step. I don’t think you’ll get anything better from similar paid apps. (A big thank you to the developer for sharing this freely!) Only downside is that I wish there was more than two widget groups to work with, but not sure if that’s limited by Apple or not. To avoid the clunky launch transition from the short cuts (inherent to Apple, NOT due to the app), turn on ‘Reduce Motion’ in Accessibility.
Does for free what other apps charge for. Somewhat finicky to set up and I would love the option of spacer widgets if possible. Otherwise awesome!
